I'm honestly not trying to be nit-picky here but just in the month of may I was on the Wi/Ht forum everyday and posted 45 times just in this forum alone with 1820 total stats. That isn't including anything before that time period but the system of voting people onto this list seems to be seriously broken if only one person even voted and I had more activity than almost everybody that's on the list to begin with. About 35 of those were outside of the LUL. I only bother to go to there when it's something important or I want to comment on some really amazing milestone of someone else.

I've been around for a while and I know I haven't been insanely active in the Wi/Ht forum but it just bothers me that people can actually still be on the list when they go months without even logging onto newgrounds. That and the fact that only one person voted. It's a bit disheartening at the lack of effort.

You don't need to be insanely active to join, you just need to be helpful, as reverend said. This is because we value quality over quantity. So even if you don't make too many posts, you will still be a potential as long as the posts you make are good, detailed, and help other people out.

Besides, you shouldn't worry about being a regular. Think about how people who repeatedly say that they want to be a mod never get modded, and moderators are usually people who never said they wanted to have the job. I'm not saying that by posting here you're not eligible, but the reasoning is the same: You should be helpful just for the sake of it. The warm feeling you get when someone thanks you after you helped him should be your only reward. Of course, some people are not as kind, but you should feel satisfied just because you know that you do your best :)

Personally, I didn't even know this list existed until the month before I was voted in. And in fact, even if I was insanely active (even if this looks contradicting about what I said early), I didn't thought I'd make it in. And about post quality, just look at my posts. Seriously, look at them. I'm by no means a role model, but you'll notice two things:

1. My posts are usually longer than the average BBSer's. They are usually detailed (despite some of them being rather short), and include a lot of links (I love Wikipedia articles and how pretty much every word is a link to some other place where you can learn more). When posting on this forum, I try to provide links to back up what I say (like the FAQ or the wiki), and/or links to point the user in the right direction. Also, I'll try to provide pictures if necessary, and even when it's not necessary, it can make your posts easier to understand (if someone asks where something is located in a specific page, sometimes posting a picture may be better than just writing a description).
2. I use a lot of text emoticons, but that's another story :P

I love post histories. By my accounts you had less than ten actual helpful posts in the month of May. You had approximately a dozen more that were outside of lists but weren't really helpful, just comments that didn't help.

Unfortunately, we just had a Membership election where it happens we took the most active users off of this list so it's going to be slow for a period. People who are dedicated to the Where is/How To forum will eventually get on this list; they have to have a little patience.

First off, I don't think you've been around for a while.

Second, it is bothersome that some people can go months without being active and still be on the list, but a lot of people feel they earned the right to be on the list and don't necessarily feel like those people should be taken off.

Thirdly, I'm the only one that voted because others did not feel like there was anyone in particular that stood out as being deserving of making the list of Wi/Ht regulars. That includes you. It takes more than just one month of posting occasionally in this forum to get noticed.

Last and not least, if you wish to get voted in, I suggest you do not ask to be voted in, it is slightly irritating, and a lot of people will be less likely inclined to voting you in. The goal of the Wi/Ht forum regulars and members is to recognize those that are helpful and contribute well to the forum. If you fit the bill, we will recognize you. If you're only attempting to be on the list just because you want to be on the list, we will not want to recognize you. We are looking for helpful people, not status whores.

I could not agree more. Spiffy literally said everything I was thinking while reading the page :) . I personally DID look at your posts and considered whether you deserved to join but the fact that you have only had one month of activity hurt you. The general consensus seems to be that you need a minimum of a few months before others will believe that you are worthy, regardless of how "good" your one month was.

Additionally, as others have mentioned. Asking to be put on the list is a big no-no in my book. Your number one objective when posting in Wi/Ht should be to help others. Sure the level up thread is fun but this is not a place to post tons of meaningless posts (not that I am saying that about you). Quality over quantity.

Idk where everyone is getting that I said I deserved to be put on the list or I should be on the list. I was simply stating how the regulars activity was low. Sheesh.

Seriously just stop making yourself look bad. The fact that you went back and counted all of your posts clearly indicates that you thought you deserve to join the list for your one month's posts.

I'm sorry that I butted in but I truly don't think that I deserve to be on the list to begin with. I've seen how good some of your linked posts are and I know mine aren't as good. It just frustrated me more than anything that by me posting statistical tidbits everyone started to assume that I thought I was better than them. That wasn't what I was trying to get across. I was trying to get across that the lack of regulars the list has that actually participate seemed to be woefully low considering three or four of the people on the list had negative stats or no posts in the last couple of updates. So stating facts is apparently something that I should of just left out as to not of caused all of that confusion and i'll keep that in mind for future reference. I just feel kind of stupid now looking back at the first post. I could of handled that a lot better if I would of just asked a question instead.

Yes, we already know this don't worry. Don't think you have some sort of magic crystal ball that allows you to see things that we do not lol. It is something of concern, as I've stated before, but that is something for us members and regulars to worry about ;-)

Don't feel stupid, as you now have learned better, and hopefully you learn from your mistakes as well. We all are far from perfect posters, and we certainly didn't start posting with the quality that we have now. It's all a learning process.

Has the activity here been that low over the past couple of months? Is it just that there are no people to vote for at the moment, or is hardly anybody voting at all?

Either way these are sad times for this list. I hope the activity will pick up in the summer holidays. Otherwise maybe you should consider updating this list once every two or three months.

I got something in my inbox saying there were no potentials, but if i would like to vote for anyone i saw fit to be on the list. Since i have been inactive on most days of the week other then browsing, i decided not to vote since i would not know who to choose in the long run.

I really hope inactivity on this list increases as well, Its been along time that i've been on this list. And now i'm in the #2 seat. I don't see myslef getting anywhere near Rena anytime soon so this is where i will be for awhile....

I'll try to help out where i can, but i can't be to active here in the comming weeks. It's going to be summer so some late nights when i'm home and have free time, I'll come back here.
