Well, July's almost here and what that means mostly to me is my birthday. I'll admit, being 19 doesn't feel anything special and as a matter of fact, it's the first birthday that I'm not too excited about. Entering the third decade is where it's at. ;)

However, before that I'll be having to go to hospital a week on Monday to have my right eye examined after being told at the local opticians that it possibly has keratoconus. Hopefully things will be fine when I go.

Also, when I was modded, I didn't see any decrease in my posting. It was years later when I stopped modding AND posting very much at all together that I became M.I.A. around here. Modding had little to do with it in my case, but interestingly demodding myself completely after having already been de-review modded due to inactivity made me reassess things and start posting more on Wi/Ht? back then in 2007... and while I haven't posted as much in 07-08-09 as I did in 03-04, it's certainly a step up from my 05-06 dormancy.

I think for me, being modded only decreased my posting rate in these particular forums. I moved more to General because there's a lot more to clean up there, to be honest, and I guess that as most (MOST) users who frequent Wi/Ht? are of a more mature / intelligent disposition, I didn't feel the need to come and mod here.

Ugh. I moved away from General in part because of being modded and getting disgusted with the shit I was modding there. Faggot this and personal attack that and spam this and OUTWAR LINKZ that. God, be thankful you missed out on the outwar linkspam craze of 2003-2004. Made life hell for BBS and review mods both. Especially review mods, though.

Anywho...

I ended up modding (if you can call it that) Wi/Ht? only, and since Wi/Ht? doesn't need no dedicated mods, it was only fitting that I step down once the admins started calling for people to be active in their modding or GTFO. I chose the wise path (for me).

I could have come here and not modded, and just hung out (like I'm doing now), but when I was first modded I wanted to pull my weight, so to speak, so I just did more of that than anything else. I think now I'm relaxing a bit more and giving myself more time to chill out... unless I'm working, or procrastinating from doing so, as I'm doing now. ^_^

Or you could come here and mod AND relax, and go mod elsewhere, but not stay in those nasty, nasty places for TOO long, lest they ruin your soul. #;-}>

It's a shame in a way, because it's almost ruined the simple pleasure of just reading a book, as I'm constantly looking at it in critical terms and have to actually make an effort to just take it at surface value, or slightly-beneath-the-surface value, considering that I don't like to take ANYTHING purely at surface value. That's boring. :)

I never found it a shame. While it may not be "simple," deconstructing and overanalysing fiction is fun as hell, and thus a pleasure to me, even if a complex one, and has been such since at least high school, if not earlier.

They say ignorance is bliss, and in some cases I agree, but when it comes to entertainment/art, I disagree strongly.

I think the forums have gotten a bit less overtly mod happy. Sure you get the same reaction when a mod posts a thread and it gets a good number of replies when the same topic being made by a non mod would get less replies, but it seems to be fading a bit. (Or the mod whores have changed and I missed it)

Well, it's not just that that I meant, I don't think... just... I dunno. If mods and admins are made into fetishes/taboos, for lack of a better word (i.e. overly made out to be great OR horrible), those extreme POVs, even if held by a small % of the userbase, ruins a damned site. They need to just be other users as much of the time as is possible. Otherwise, it's like eating dinner at a restaurant next to a table full of cops. Sure, you know they're just people like you and they're just eating dinner, but you feel uncomfortable even if you've never done an illegal thing in your life.

I was playing GTA4 The Lost and Damned and they actually do hold a guys face up against a spinning motorcycle wheel. Its like GTA 4 but instead the map is flipped horizontal (northern part is now south) it is a tad too cartoony for me but it still is good. Scratch off tickets are really cool I won 200 bucks. I only played for 15 minutes, though.

I am still here not to often though, I am still going to Bash FF. And gfox don't gfox don't play FF anymore, remember when I had to keep telling you to stop playing, next time I will be worst, and for the dragon You don't know how addicting Fallout 3. Get the PS3 and play it. Steal from your future brother-in-law if you have to.

The only reason I don't play FF currently is A) I played FF12 for like 350 hours from October 2006 to February 2007, nearly every moment of every day for 4 straight weeks aside from when I was at work and asleep... and B) there's no FF13 yet, and even when there is, I won't be able to get it right away.... and C) I have the FF12 DS game, but it's not as fun as 12 for PS2, so I never got super far into it.

BTW, I did play some FFX a few months ago. So.... HAH. Eat it.

Now I have to convince gfox, RR (if he is here. He is slacking on depositing) and Bahamut not to vote for me, if they don't that is even better. I am not active or contributed enough to be a Wi/Ht Member. I like trolling the newbs not helping them out.

Why can't I play the PS3 version so there's another PS3 game to play? Sure, there's a nice amount of exclusives, but MORE would be nice. After all, I've played around 90 PS1 games including demos and rents and my PS2 library is a tad lacking and the PS2 has one of the, if not, the biggest games library out of them all.

I remember when I read that damned book at around age 13 or so. I had some Fucked. Up. Nightmares for about 10-14 straight nights afterwards. No other book or movie has ever come close to the effect that book had on me as a kid.

The only thing that really creeped me out was the first Poltergeist movie, I think I was 9 when I watched it (or 10... or 12, can't remember, but definetly pretty young). Haven't seen the movie since, so I don't exactly know what creeped me out. But I never had nightmares from those things.

I never say that, and I'm sure if I did now it wouldn't have the same effect on me that It had back in the day. I saw the It movie or miniseries or whatever, BTW, and while it was creepy, it was nowhere near as scary as the book was. Left less to the imagination, I guess. But then, that's true of almost any movie vs. the book version, yet it was far more true (for me, at least) in the case of It above all others.

I had a modded/hacked PS1 with hundreds of burned games I don't what happened to the games. I still have my PS2 hook up but I don't play the games I might play GOW or GTA games that's about it. I have Bioshock, Pure and Killzone 2 to play, I am eagerly waiting for GOW III. Infamous or Prototype I might get them.

Are you sure it's not just that the map system is handled differently, or that for some reason you end up looking at the map upside down, but north is still north?

My record for longest consecutively is Fallout 3 I played it for practically 2 days straight only sleeping.

I played Might and Magic 6 once for 32 straight hours (no sleeping, only food, drink, and bathroom breaks). That's my record.

As for the Wii I tried since day one and 360 if natal is good then I will buy one just for that. No he is saving up his hard earned pounds to buy a PS3 he has his heart set on plus a Deathclaw, yao guai and um Big Daddy will come after him if he doesn't save up. As for the PC and Steam it is just MP and uh nothing stopping him from not getting that.

I'm surprised how they made a FFXII sequel so soon, even if it was for the DS. If they wanted to make a sequel/prequel to a FF game, it should have been FFVI. FFVII has more than enough sequels/prequels already, FFX-2 was a massive piece of shit and FFIV: The Day After...Uhh, not picked it up just yet. I didn't think it was that necessary to make a sequel to FFIV, which I thought had a very happy ending and explained everything. However, if the sequel is worth picking up, I'll have a look into it.

HOLY SHIT. Epic linkz, man. Great news. I'd been hoping for this for 3-4 years ever since the movies were announced. Hey, I still liked the idea of them making four movies, even if it seemed a tad overkill and how clumsy the writers were with Into the Wild Green Yonder. I still consider this to be season 5, but season 6 you can call the true return of Futurama. The movies were made to see how they did and if they sold well, they'd come back with an actual season.

In an ideal world, it was the Simpsons that got canned after 4 seasons and had to be resurrected 6 years later for season 5, while Futurama went on to have 20+ straight years of eps. ;_;

I have to disagree with that idea. I felt The Simpsons were excellent all the way up to season 8. Seasons 9 and 10 were great but weren't anything like the previous seasons. Plus. season 9 had some TERRIBLE episodes, mainly All Singing, All Dancing and The Principal and the Pauper. Season 11 was when things started to go wrong, but to be more precise, the moment Saddlesore Galactica aired on TV. And then the show just got worse and became an abomination from season 14 and onwards, with a few exceptional *GAAAAASP* decent episodes.

As for Futurama, I'm probably going to get shit from you or Coop for this, but I actually don't like the sound of it running for 20+ years straight from the start. If that happened, the show would have most likely deteriorated badly like what's happening to The Simpsons now. Sure, Futurama has more ideas than The Simpsons could possibly have, but running for 20 years straight would do no good to the franchise.

I think what should have happened was letting The Simpsons stop at season 11 for a few years and pay full attention to Futurama. Around 3 - 5 years later, let The Simpsons continue but still pay a good amount of attention to Futurama. The episodes would also have to not ruin any continuities. Now THAT would be ideal in my view.

Yep, I was in for a treat all right. However, I DO have one complaint about Vice City. The controls for helicopters, planes and such are awful. I mean, individual buttons to turn AND individual buttons to strafe left/right? For the PC port, why couldn't they make the controls a little simpler? Besides that, fantastic game. It's a lot better than GTA3, even though I can't seem to find many stunt places in Vice City, which kinda disappointed me, but not too much. And besides, if I'm that desperate to do crazy stunts, I'll go back to GTA3.

As for San Andreas, maybe the whole gangster and thugs story will grow on me after a while. I'll give it a chance before knocking it. After all, I wasn't really fond of the use of Mafia in GTA3 at first, but later on I thought it was great.

I'm looking at September right now considering it'll be three months after the latest election as well as August being a month where it should be more active than usual.

2010 I am hoping. September 09 is way to close. The member list is suppose to be sacred, elite and envied.

There is nothing in it for me to like the closest I came was the NG game Epic battle Fantasy to liking a FF game.

FF is far superior than that flash game.

Oh and expect to see my absence in the Wi/Ht? section of the forums, as I am going away on the 4th of July to America and staying there for a month with family.
