It's amazing to have rejoined, I've seriously missed the Wi/Ht forum during my time of absence, but just three months on from my retirement (and about six months on from the start of my inactivity) I felt like I really should come back and join once more. Hopefully my answers will be as helpful as possible during this renewed membership.

Is this really so? I've always thought that coming back onto the list after a short term retirement was relatively common.

My inactivity on this site has really shown at this moment. Since i started to become inactive and then just stopped posting, there has been 7 usuers who "by request" have removed themself from this list. Most of them have been on the list longer then I, or i have seen evolve into what they once were.

It's just shocking to me how this list has changed in so few months. As it looks as i have become one of the senior members of this list or being on this list the 3rd longest behind Little-Rena and YoungAndWise. I feel it is time i took control of this and become active in helping newer members and taking the spots of thoes who are now not posting at all on this secion of this forum. As time is dictating, this place is slowing down once again. I don't want it to happen, when the old leave there needs to be new to replace.

It's held pretty irregularly when most members (i.e. Bahamut) feel there should be someone new added. Typically only twice a year.

Not a terrible position to be on, and I believe that if I was still attempting to gain B/P points I'd gain up to about 1000, give or take fifty or sixty points. When I really go for it I can rack in a good few B/P points, it's just that due to how much I want to stay in the NGPD while in my current position when my backlog clears out it'll leave me with about five points before ranking up. Although that'll keep me from ranking up, it's likely to do the same to Spiffy, who (bar from JP, seeing as I know little about his stat habits right now). Hopefully, over time I'll close the gap between me and Michelin, but that'll have to be done almost completely through posts and experience, making it quite a difficult feat to achieve. Talking of posts, I'll probably reach 5000 in the next two or three days, so I have something to look forward to posting in the LUL. I don't have any real ideas for a thread, so the post will have to go alone for that.

Heh, I thought I'd kept up at least 9 in each ten days, I don't recollect missing any days although it's likely that one or two might have been lost right at the start - in addition the information was gathered before my deposit today, adding another miss to the total. Hopefully I'll be able to get a better overall average in for not just experience, but for posts as well, them being my core stats from now on.

I've been having troubles picking up a single good potential for this month so far. Considering how slow last month was and how slow this month is going right now, I'm wondering if you regulars still want an election held for April. I feel we can leave it for this month but before I even make any decisions, I want to hear from you guys.

Also, in response to the next Wi/Ht? Member List election, it'll be in May as requested by gfox for his wedding.

I suppose given the lack of activity and thus lack of potentials, it may be wise to not have elections for this month. It'd be in my view a poor decision to vote in someone who might not be that "good" a Regular for the sake of having someone enter the list. I suppose the best thing to do is hope that next moth will pick up, and perhaps allow 2 potentials to enter the list to compensate for this month.

The Wi/Ht? certainly is moving slowly recently. I've been spending hours on end in here and not seeing any questions popping up at all and I rarely ever see new users answering those that have been resolved. I'd say that if no-one pop up and really do look like they're contributing a lot to the community and will continue to do so then adding them to the list purely due to lack of anyone else to take up the position doesn't seem the right thing to do. I say that we should probably refrain from adding new members until people show up of whom seem like they'd be able to seriously add to the list.

On a semi-related note, it's great to hear about gfox's wedding, great luck to you if you're reading this.

I wholeheartedly concur with Rohan's assessment. I don't feel we just just vote in someone for the sake of voting someone in. It needs to be a worthy contribution, I wouldn't expect anything else.

I agree. In fact, I didn't vote last month for the same reason. Though that was mostly my fault because I wasn't too active.

Anyway, if at the end of the month there aren't any potentials who stand out then having an election would be pointless. So yeah, we could just wait another month.

Thanks for your feedback on the matter. I checked for more potentials today and could only pick up one user. The rest were either not interested as they stated before, only posted in the medal thread or is an alt of a Wi/Ht? Member. The potentials list wouldn't look good if they consisted of mostly medal thread regulars so I've decided to leave it this month.
