It's nothing special... ;)
Although gfox has the best smiley ever created.
:::bows::: Did you mention mine because it too is a winking face, though? #;-}>

But dude go easy on me. I have this fear of puncture wounds and slow painful blood loss.

Why is everyone looking at me? o_o
Might be because of how elaborate your face is. Should we all just have our own custom faces? I think it could be a fun Wi/Ht Reg thing to do. B-]
Well, faces like o_o are just basic anime-smiley versions of the standard ^_^ one. But anyway... sure, everyone can have their own custom face if they want to.
I made my smiley on the X-Files communities on AOL and Prodigy in 1994-1996, took it to Usenet in 1997-2000, and then to NG from 2003-now. It's inspired a good half-dozen other smiley-creations from folks who've seen it along the way, so trust me... your B-sunglassed (I assume) face right there with super-brackety mouth is a new variation on an old old theme. #;-}>

I think only gfox has his custom one and uses it regularly. Let me think about a good one...
No good ideas now. Oh well... next time I hope I'm not so tired to think about a nice one.
Heh.
But first we need gfox's approval. He started everything with his classy #;-}>
Am I allowed to use his smiley now?
Plenty of people use it occasionally to be silly. No one but me uses it constantly. I wouldn't care if you did, as long as you weren't constantly mocking/parodying/pretending to be me 24/7, but be forewarned that even if I didn't mind, other people might. It's kinda like the whole X-Naut thing. We've never let the new X-Naut forget that X-Naut, to some of us, still instantly means the OLD X-Naut (now Molotov).
A username, a unique smiley, a manner of posting... these things are all part of online identity as much as our faces, fingerprints, and voices are a part of our offline identities, no?

Yeah I know. I was proposing we all show our unoriginality by taking his elaborateness and slightly altering it.

It's not unoriginal to make your own smiley. When I made mine in 1994, I wasn't the first person to make a smiley, now was I?
Most people create simple smileys that then become mainstream, so few go to the trouble of making a custom one like mine, but I guarantee you users of e-mail in the 70s and 80s, long before the net became commercial.... SOME of those people had already made custom smileys.
Do we? If it's not directly copying it then I don't see the problem. Unless gfox owns all the smileys and there's a microscopic trademark symbol next to every smiley ever made.
Don't take me to court please. Not right now.

I'm not the official desginated Wi/Ht? parent, folks. No one needs my permission to have fun. O_o
