This would be a very good idea also because one: the flash artist gets the content they want and two: the music can then be altered to the flash artists needs in any etra ways past the cover version to begin with. Thus the flash artist wouldn't have to make due with any of the problems and/or issues of the original work.

Well thats a load of Crap. What am I supposed to do now? People don't work together on Newgrounds, I have never found someone to help me on any project so I HAVE to go to other resources for things.

I already wondered how Newgrounds could keep such Flash Videos with an Official Soundtrack without any further problems. Even right now i can think of a bunch of submissions from known artists that use songs from the original singers.
Videos like that get their audio track ripped in no time on YouTube for example.

I always liked the idea of a "Flash Animation With Cover Song". Using a cover of the known song can give the movie another twist, and the singer's voice might even suit better to the animated characters.

That is only true in some instances. Just one example would be all of the cease letters sent out to various projects where people wanted to remake a classic game using graphics and audio they created and even the game engine was written by someone on the project. Game companies still shut them down regardless even though all the materials are original. So even if you simply base a project off of an existing work you can still be held legally responsible.

But why is that?

Can you or someone else provide me a link or explain in more depth as to why a non-lucrative flash/song/etc... goes against this or those laws.

I personally don't make any of those but I'm really curious.

Hey man, wikileaks may not seem too attractive or whatever to you, but it's keeping the government with it's pants down for once. They got the balls to actually stand up and do something, and they're not all talk. While I admire many artists who share their works on the internet, art and real life are two different realities. In fact , all of this copyright infringement bullshit is being imposed by major corporations and the recording industry with with governmental backing. Wikileaks is fighting for the freedom of the individual, just as the pirates and crackers of the world do. Otherwise, soon enough the government will outlaw porn because of some immorality bullshit, and they will control what we can and cannot say if we don't fight now to preserve what we got. Japanese and Chinese governments are prime examples of this extreme censorship, and that's just for starters. Freedom of speech, motherfucker.

I'm confused about what copyright has to do with wikileaks. Really, really confused. :B

If anything, this is good news, it only encourages original content. This get the gears actually moving in the head, rather than just shitting out the same garbage every day on the portal.

And thank what ever you want that this means we won't have to see another fucking Mario sprite video on the flash page unless it's actually awesome.

There's a lot of great songs on the audio portal. Sometimes I just search random words and listen to the songs that pop up.

I get about 99% of all my music I use in my movies these days from the Audio Portal. Lots of quality stuff out there, you just gotta look for it.

If anything sprite artists should be making their own custom sprites, rather then using something that was made by a company in Japan way back in 1992.
Download that pixel tool and draw them yourselves. Not that hard, you've got no excuse.
