Reviews for "Ghost Motel 1: Resurrected"

I never played the original series, so minus the nostalgia, this really is an exceptionally brief time waster. The voice acting is very well done and some of the easter eggs are cute, but there's such little substance that it hardly matters.

That being said, if more is to come and the rest of the series is redone with more in each title, then I could definitely see this growing into something excellent.

I don't really understand. I go to my room to unpack, check on the girl and.. game over? Am I missing something?

Graeme responds:

No, that is the end! It may seem kind of sudden, but it matches up with the ending of the original game.
I guess it is less obviously and ending in this version when the rest of the game is a little less linear.

not bad but it would be nice if the items had a description in inventory, like maybe when I hover the cursor over the item. Otherwise, good.

played better point and click...

I'm so glad to see this game being recognized, and someone taking the time to redesign the game is awesome! :)

However, as much as I enjoyed the OG, I can't say this one really holds the same ground, or even close to it. The new track is fantastic, but the original music had something uniquely spooky in it, something that this one wasn't able to capture. The graphics obviously look improved, but they seem too cartoonish compared to the OG. Lastly, what I think this game is really missing, is the creepy atmosphere that the original one provided. It's just not scary, or mysterious at all.

If you decide to continue the series, I kindly suggest either staying true to the original one, or try at least to capture the same vibes. :)
