2022 Highlight - Pixel Art
I love pixel art and love seeing it on NG. Our new art viewer even lets you examine pixel art up-close, without trying to smoothen the image!
Here are some highlights from 2022.
@SovanJedi is one of my favorite pixel artists, so I love it when he turns up here with something. He also helped judge the Pixel Day art category this year!
@stevenm1988 won the Neo Geo Jam in 2020 and I shared some of his art in the Best of October post but that won’t stop me from mentioning him again! He recently shared some great Mario-themed pieces.
@PixelHeadAche made some of my favorite pieces this year, including a great one for Madness Day!
@omegachainoboy recently got active on NG and it has been banger after banger. I love the Shinobi surfing piece so much that I imagine having a framed video screen with it endlessly looping on my wall.
@donpeppi made a beautiful Pico Day 2021 entry that fell under the radar (I think it wasn’t in the tag results) and was finally featured this year. There was a hope he would return and thankfully, he did!
@gatekid3 came up in a post this month that noted his movie entries. I also highlighted him in a Cool People post last month. There’s more to share, though! Here’s some of his art from this year.
@Destri made a great collage for Pico Day this year and had a winning entry in the Behemoth’s Halloween art contest with their Alien Hominid piece!
@maruki makes beautiful organic pixel art and previously made our Pixel Day 2021 banner. Here’s some work from this year!
@Lisnovski has been making these cool character clusters celebrating Smash Bros.
@aleha84 takes real world scenes and turns them into perfect little pixel art loops.
@kldpxl makes great outdoor landscape shots.
@arferguson shared two breathtaking pieces earlier this year and they can now be fully appreciated with our art viewer. Click the image to open it in our art viewer, then zoom in on those pixels!
@moawling made a bunch of food-themed characters this year. Delicious!
@moertel shares great outdoor pieces, with cool night time vibes.
