I’m always keeping an ear out for music that would fit well in video games. @Arevin, @father-p, @EX-LYD, @ZaneLittle and @TheTrester all made songs that could inspire your next levels and boss battles!

@WildTheory composed a song that’s just plain beautiful.

@Trippple has gotten amazing at production, recording this perfect little song in his living room.

@SettaXy made a song to say Thank You and listening to it will make your day better.

Testing a new guitar, @ShepDeathWoods made a cool song that’s sort of New Order / Cocteau Twin meets vocaloid.

This song might be BACKWARDS but @RUNNER-BOY continues a forward ascent.

@xfree99x is an act to watch, they just hit different!

@meganeko was back with some great new songs this month!

I totally vibe out to everything by @sna-vsndlx.

Congratulations to all of the wonderful game devs this month that submitted a whole heaping helping of great games: usually we only get around 30~ games, but this month we broke 40! I consider that a great Halloween treat, though now I need to sleep off this review coma, haha! If you feel like seeing my top treats, check out my news post here!

In particular, I feel like we got a lot more demos/prototypes this month than usual, and a lot of them show great potential! If you can, try and check out some of these yourself and give feedback so we can help them grow into fantastic final versions:

Thank you guys for the shout-out in the Secret Santa info page!

Fun fact: my setup for the very first Audio Secret Santa in 2010 was basically cribbed from the Pixelation forum's pixel art event that they'd been doing since, like, 2005. They definitely did a lot of the legwork for figuring out how a Secret Santa event would work for digital art passed between strangers on the internet. My favorite thing I stole from them was having people describe their own musical preferences in a public sign-up post, so gifters could make them something custom to their tastes even if they didn't know them at all.

Also, making the huge Christmas Day results thread on the early-2010s forum (read: dozens of hyperlinks that had to match perfectly to their intended recipient, clean formatting, super high stakes as everyone was very proud of their gift and excited to receive one, and NO EDIT BUTTON) was an exercise in sheer terror for young me.

Cool stuff, Ive always been intrigued by the Secret Santa events here but haven't participated.

A cool idea I was thinking would be having the ability to trade art and music because sometimes people can only create one of those things so it would be cool for a music creator to get some art they couldn't otherwise do themselves and vice versa.

I will have to keep checking back to participate this year though!
