i see a thread full of zero-bombing discussion and some fucking IM-copypasta. Some of you who know better opposed the 0-crap discussion when it first emerged (still, it is prefered that you don't acknowledge such off-topic discussion, rather PM a mod about it - we don't want backseatmodding in a thread either) - but it looks like some of you juuuust can't stay away from talking about it and derail every fucking good thread we get in this forum.

So much diversity on the genres this time around! Congratulations to everyone ^^

What I think is funny is that Savannah is now 4.45, which I believe puts it above Alchemy FX. Both are excellent songs, unlike this week's number 5, the hip-hop track that probably edged out several awesome tracks and then dropped almost an entire 1.00/5.00.

The top 5 is much more competitive than it used to be, and I'm thinking of the time when cornandbeans was churning out two songs a week on average (I remember when he released {Firestorm}).

Other thoughts on this week's top five anybody?

Thoughts... welll... we feel pretty lucky to be up there this week. We were at 4.29 so i figured the zero bombers had knocked us out of getting top5. I think Echoz broadcast on radiogrounds probably helped a couple songs get up there.

Lasts week was awesome! Broken Crossfader was up there... that guy is talented.

I have to say i love your style ApproachingNirvana with those violins and guitars awsome. Your song is the best in my opinion the best on the weekly top5.
And about the Top30 my song got 19th place hmm... once you get on the tops it gets easier and easier evrey week.

Say you're new to making music and you have no fanbase. Nobody knows you exist, let alone appreciates your music.

Now assuming this new musician is worth half a s**t, they'll eventually release an awesome song and it'll make weekly top 5. Now, hundreds, if not thousands of people look at the weekly top 5 during the seven days the songs are up there. So immediately, said new musician gains some sort of fanbase. Even if it's really small, their fans will support pretty much whatever they release and will prove to be a benefactor in their next attempt to reach weekly top 5, seeing as they'll simply rate 5/5 and counteract the zero-bombers to a degree.

Yeah, it doesn't work out this well in practice, but it's easily possible for this situation to become a reality.

Nah I agree, it shouldn't be there. I wish I could have gotten top 5 on a different song, not one like this that I only spent about 5 days making.

Well to be honest the soul reason i got on the Tops is because of my fanbase. My first tops was the Top30 by that time i had a total of 20/22 fans already. A week after the top30 it became 30/31 So it was a matter of time that i would reach Top5. Now after that week i got now 44 fans and increasing. So now that a other song of mine have reached top20 my chances of a bigger fanbase now increases, There for my chances to get on the Top5 next week has increased :)
