I have never made it on the top 5 / top 30 or front page :(

Someday, my day will come (hopefully).

well i once got 3rd place on the Top30 wich is almost the same as being in the top5 in my opinion. But Zoofari song is cool i think you probably do deserve number one at the top5.

1- Doesn't sound #1 worthy to me. though it's nice 'n catchy, so a typical NG user #1

3 - I don't know if anything like this should be on top5, but it's pretty nice for being made in one day.
4 - Simple, seemed a little empty to me, I mean not much in there, though maybe that's the power of the song. Way to short for a decent ambient song to me though.
5- Sounds very promising to me. Funny how WiP's get top5's though. I think this one is actually guiet deserved.

Zenon's (imo) top song I thank you--_-- is up there again too.

you miss something. just because runaway is back up top doesn't mean it is popular again. every tuesday, almost EVERYTHING is zero bombed on the first few pages of EVERY genre.

when the dust is settled, the songs with 600000 billion votes at 4.4, they tend to stick out in top 30, get zero bombed a bit, and show up in a week or two again, becuase they have groups of people who five them, almost daily

But yeah, pretty mediocre top5. Number one has a proper intro, but it gets very repetitive onwards from there.
2 isn't a midi rip, it's a nice remake of a nice song. Still, not top5 worthy.

I'm not really sure how my song got up there, but I'm thankful nonetheless. It is empty, as you mentioned Mich. While it's meant to be that way, I'm not sure it deserves to be in the top 5.

Gregaaron's song immediately grabbed my attention. It's like a downtempo trance song and the effects on it are great. I think this should be at the top. The song's already pretty polished. You can tell that work went into this one and that there's plans to develop it further.

Top 30 - Usual suspects. Although I'm happy to see Edge of Faith still up there.

Man that screwd up! but that explains why every time one of my songs hit 4.40 they suddenly get a score of 4.30 and its strating to bug me >:( on the otherside that makes me a potiental top30 or top5 wich makes me also happy :)

Thanks for the compliment though I kind of think it shouldn't be up there at all. Also now that this has happened, when I finish it and if it ends up being much better and doesn't get featured or hardly any attention at all, or worse completely ignored, I'm going to be really disappointed... this has put a lot of pressure on me now and that's not good for my creativity, though it might get me more motivated.

Well, we don't make music for the recognition, we make music because we like to. Although it's nice to get rewarded for your compositions, it shouldn't be the reason you make music or upload music.

For some people, enjoyment comes from others hearing their music and reviewing it. Hard to happen when they get 0 bombed to oblivion. I feel bad for a lot of the musicians on this site who make some great stuff but hardly get heard.

Yea, I know what you mean. For the longest time I put classical comps in the classical section, but that always gets 0 bombed to hell, so from now on I put it in misc.

I guess that is also another reason we make music, so others will listen and comment on it.

Personally, I make music for these reasons
1. Self-expression
2. Experimentation
3. Having it heard and appreciated

Because when you do have a whole bunch of fans, there's no denying that that doesn't make you feel good. And I actually hope to someday make money for my efforts.

Now I noticed zerobombers were a pretty big problem this week. Each time one of my songs reached a good level (one of my songs was sitting at the top of the hiphop-modern list, two near the top of the classical genre) some asshole comes and zerobombs the fuck out of it. Hell, I submitted a VG recomposition 2 days ago and the first two votes were zerobombers.

They really piss me off.

And about the top 5 this week, I'm not surprised to see bjra up there or cajete, especially cajete because I had the luck of reviewing his song when it was first submitted. It had a 4.5 rating with like 30 votes, so I knew it was probably gonna do very well. He has a substantial fanbase.

In conclusion the one with bigger fanbase gets top5 or top30. I mean i had a lot of oppurtunities to get top30 or top5 but because somebody thought it would be funny to zerobombed me, my chance got lost.

The reason i upload music is so that people can hear my songs and enjoy it. Very few people will hear your song by the new tracks list and your chance is even slimmer if your song gets a review. Ive seen awsome artists who put heart and soul in there songs to be rewarded by zerobombers. this is becoming a problem.

I've notice that people give 0 on songs in genre they don't like... that's stupid. I don't like hip hop so what would be the point of giving these songs 0. I try to comment on songs I give an average rating and I'll rarely give a 0... as I rarely give a 5... because I think everyone needs to work and learn more about music... Me first!

I'm a new comer here and once my music will be uploaded I hope to get comments and reviews... That the whole point of me coming here. I don't care about top 5, 30 or 1 000 000... I just want people to listen to what I do and comment on it... constructively.

Not to be harsh, but I think we need to stop babbling on about zero votes. It's a known fact that some people go to all the genres and vote zero on the top submissions, especially on Tuesday. Also, if you want to talk about zero votes, there's a thread for that.

And if you really want to see something, browse ALL the genres and take notice of the threshold that is the "top score" in each genre. You'll find that the non-electronic genres, including jazz, rock, and classical, are consistently lower than the electronic ones like techno, trance, and video game. Once you break that threshold and surface on the first page of the genre, you'd better prepare yourself for the onslaught of zeros.

That all being said, I think that this week's top 5 is alright. Really nothing there that caught my attention, but there's nothing that shouldn't really be there aside from the 30 songs in 30 days crap. I mean the song's okay, but the dude got a top 5 spot last week, and the week before. I dunno what other people think, that's just me. The songs aren't thaaat good...

I must say that it's good to see some hip hop in there. However, I think that the first one "Life's Choices," is much better than other, although the drums could use a bit of work (in both). And at least that guy doesn't have a description that makes him sound like a douche XD.

Meh, all just my opinion.
