No system is perfect. Anyone who tries will be hard pressed to come up with a system to effectively determine Weekly Top 5. You can't use nominations because of crews that could form (as MaestroRage said). You can't have it moderated because mods can only listen to so much music, because of bias, and there's already the featured music on the NG FP. The only way, I think, to make top 5 work better would be to better empower the people. How do you give the people power when they can already vote?

If what you want is to increase exposure, then there's a very simple way to do that: Random selection. Five of the songs submitted in either the last week/month/24 hours, doesn't include songs that are on the newest 30 listing or top 5.

I met loads of people on NG, and because of that I a where I am now, and I'm getting proud of the music I make.

after reaching my top weekly goal I now realize my true musician goal.
