Jar Jar Binks didn't really annoy me that much. I absolutely couldn't stand Christian Bale in the Dark Knight, though.

I've heard many complaints about that. I think he did his voice differently in the Batman Begins, so maybe you'll like him more in that movie. Personally I didn't mind his voice at all and I think Christian Bale is indeed a talented actor.

Also, despite Jar Jar Binks I still prefer The Phantom Menace over Attack of the Clones. That sidestory with Anakin Skywalker was just painful to watch.

Wasn't amazed by Christian Bale as batman, but someone who was certainly overlooked in The Dark Knight was Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. I thought he was pretty good as that.

Aaron Eckhart was the one who stood out in Dark Knight as far as I'm concerned.

I always enjoyed Bale as Batman, at the very least he took the role seriously and honestly outperformed virtually every other actor to ever even play the character.

IMDb has changed ridiculously. It now feels a bit claustrophobic. I dislike this.

I watched Pet Semetary the other day. Overall I thought it was all right. Never read the book so I have no direct comparison though.

I liked it almost as much as The Dark Knight. Hadn't watched it up until about a month ago. (Saw it way after The Dark Knight).

I don't like it either for the same reasons. The older lay-out seemed much more compact and I liked that.

I didn't find it as impressive as The Dark Knight, but it's still good and much better than the last films of the older series.

I'll give it this, I've never hated the beginning of a film so much only to end up loving the ending. I understand that there's always going to be a lot of backstory to get through when you're starting a series of Batman films, but damn was it torturous to sit through. At least a little bit of it could have been glossed over.

I remember I was hanging out with friends and someone decided to but in Batman Begins. My response was "Okay, just as long as we skip over the first half of the movie." Not one person objected.

I feel that cause it was from Chris Morris I expected too much and I over-hyped it with my own fanboyism. Same thing happened with Team America, I expected the best thing ever cause its from Trey Parker and I was a bit disappointed with the amount of laughs.
Both are good films and I enjoy them both, but I don't laugh as much as I think I should.

I just watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

While it was a fairly good film, I did not enjoy it as much as Raiders of the Lost Ark. This film seemed a lot darker with more serious themes and less humor. The humor it did contain sometimes felt a little bit misplaced.

The first 20 minutes it felt like I was watching a James Bond parody. Then it got very serious for a long time and only near the end it had some goofy action scenes like in RotLA. The scenes that I enjoyed so much.

I think it was still a fairly good film on its own, but it's not as enjoyable as Raiders of the Lost Ark in my opinion.

Next week they'll broadcast The Last Crusade. I saw it got rated higher than Temple of Doom, so I'm looking forward to watching that one.

I can't remember much of the beginning, but I don't think it left that bad of an impression on me the first time I watched it.

Hey peeps, been a while since i've been active on the BBS, so i thought i'd drop in and ask for some recommendations.

Anyone recommend me some tense horror/gore films.....similar to something like ´The hills have eyes´, or ´The Descent´.

Thanks :D

I recently showed Altered States to a friend of mine because I recalled the movie bugging me the hell out when I was high on haze, but uh...I didn't recall so much dick and man ass. And I didn't recall the part where John Hurt runs amok as a prehistoric primate being so ridiculous. I was kinda embarrassed.

lol Bill Paxton's character was more scared than she was.

So, should I watch Alien 3? From what I've heard, it isn't as good.

Fuck that fucking movie. And fuck Alien Resurrection harder.

git outta heeeere. Bale was good. Though his voice was a little silly in parts of Batman Begins. And he's quite something else in American Psycho.

I think it would be cool if the next movie has Eckhart come back as Two Face and maybe introduces the Riddler.

I don't see the point in Let Me in existing when you can just watch Let the Right One in. But if you see

I also found out that my theater lets people under 18 into Rated R movies by themselves as long as their parent buys the ticket. So pumped about The Social Network.

I just watched Shakespeare in Love, the best picture academy award winner of 1998.

Not really my type of movie, but I thought it was fairly enjoyable nonetheless. One thing I didn't like though was that they dress up a woman like a man and it's so obvious to the viewer, yet nobody seems to notice in the movie itself.

There are several other movies where this is done as well and it always looks so incredibly silly. It seems like they always wanna go for making her look manly but still have feminine beauty (with thick layers of make up) and it just never works in my opinion. I've seen women IRL doing it way better than they do it at the movies.

I guess so. I think the problem kids are having here is that every movie is subtitled (cause we don't like dubbing), but most younger kids are unable to read that fast and they don't understand a word of English. So they won't be able to follow the movies you mentioned until they are 10 years old or so.

That's probably why we don't really grow up with movies like Indiana Jones and Back to the Future.

Anyway, I just got back from The Social Network. If this film does not bring home a plethora of Oscars I will be deeply disappointed. All the performances, from Eisenberg to Timberlake, were spot-on. Eisenberg breaks away from his "Cera clone" status and gives a wonderful performance. I don't think
any other director could make a movie about the invention of Facebook so damn great as Fincher did. My favorite film of '10 so far.

I just watched Finding Nemo.

It's a very enjoyable animation film in my opinion. Not Pixar's best, but I do think it was one of the funnier ones I've seen from their studios so far. I think it's mostly the characters that gave this film its charm. Pretty much any character that crossed the screen was like-able or funny and it was interesting how it didn't contain any really evil characters or a clear bad guy.

If you haven't seen this film yet, I recommend you watch it sometime in the future.
