Hey everyone. I am here to give you my dearest apology for not being able to submit a song for this year's competition. I honestly didn't mean any disrespect by it. Life just got in the way and I was obligated with other things. As far as I'm concerned, xKore did one hell of a job on his submission, so he really does deserve to move on to the next round, but I feel terrible for making Round 1 extremely boring for him and everyone else (since like 4 other people didn't post). So I promise that I will eventually post a make-up song for you guys, (even though it won't count) just so I can show that I still really care about the NG community/ this competition. ;)

So, how are you gonna deal with the odd number of competitors now? Are you gonna make a group of 3 battle each other?

No worries NIGHTkilla, real life gets in the way sometimes and there isn't anything you can do about it.

Nah, we just allow the people without an opposing submission to pass through to the next round automatically.

That complicates things and ends up with more odd numbers. Since no matchup had 2 no shows, people can progress and numbers all still be balanced.

There's no odd numbers, because at least one person from each match up showed so there's just a lot of people who are probably getting auto-passed into the next round.

I doubt thatll change just because it went from 2 fails to 5.

Also, will the 6 scores be averaged for a final score out of 10, or will they be added together for a final score out of 60 (not that it matters, just curious)?

Assuming things haven't changed (I judged last year), they are all posted in a results/round 2 thread at once.

And agreeing that it doesn't matter, but I believe that the scores are added not averaged.

The OFFICIAL results are posted all at once at the deadline in a new thread entitled NGADM 2011: Round 2, but separate judges may choose to post their own reviews on the actual songs if they so wish ;)

They will be average out of 10. Doesn't really make much of a difference though ;)

Last year the results were both added and averaged. So if, say, in Round 1 there were 5 judges who gave a submission the scores 10, 9, 8, 9, 7, then in the results there would be 43/50 and 8.6/10.

Echo's taking care of all that this year, so I don't know exactly what he'll be doing.

Also, the judges won't post the reviews gradually. I've advised them not to post their reviews on the song pages until the results are out (which will be a new thread with the collection of all the reviews, a sum-up of who makes it into Round 2, and the new pairings). Once these results are out, the judges may choose to post their NGADM reviews on the song pages - of course, if everyone's OK with that.
