Mostly the game is very well done, but it falls short when it comes to using the mouse, or not using it in this case.
I got the bat, and then I'm wondering if it is equipped or not?
Hard to tell, even after selecting the equip option.

Also: space to get out of a menu screen is a bit unusual, and you can't use escape to leave the menu because that also drops you out of full screen. I'd suggest using an exit option on the screen.

Only problem with this is that if you click out of the tab, you have to fucking refresh and you lose all progress.

Pack it in, boys. They'll never top this one.

Like... I cannot think of a single negative comment to make. And I am a bitter, hateful person.

Half-jokes aside, this is seriously it. The mechanics are flawless. The dialogue is brilliantly written (and it's funny! nobody EVER does funny dialogue right!). The visual design is impeccable - Gale is a character you fall in love with on first look, because she just LOOKS like a protagonist. I'm genuinely floored at how the story can progress so far in such a short time - it scales up perfectly from the first "find the villagers!" quest to... well, to the rest. There are tons of twists and turns and they all feel satisfying and - most crucially - they all have PRECEDENT. The amount of, like, Chekhov's Gun planting that you do in the game's earliest stages puts career writers to shame.

Anyway, I could probably spend the next half hour typing up my praise and adulation for this game, but you get the point. Honestly the only thing I like more than this game is the knowledge that an expanded remake is coming.

Just cheeking in to see if second part is out yet =D
thank you for the great game, have most warm memories from playing it.

Huh, I've managed to completely miss this game, but recognized a scene from a screenshot I've seen ages ago. Guess it makes a success, if your game is known outside NG.

Quite great, but...
First up, female-centered plot is really annoying, just breaks immersion for me. Main villain is terribly cliche, could've been better.
Setting is gold tho.
Clunky controls with no option to completely reassign to your liking. Strange.
Some difficulty spikes and unintuitive bosses, I mean the Tower boss here.
A few bugs. I've encountered one.

Overall, mighty great work. Must have been a lot of effort put up into this, my respects.
Let's see how remake and sequel will turn out.
