Hey! To start this decade right, we believe Newgrounds should be ad-free for EVERYONE. For this to work, we need people who have the means to become paying supporters. For just $3 per month or $25 for the year, you can help this happen and get some nice perks!

For the month of February we have disabled ads on all E-M content. We need 212 people to reach our goal of 3,100 active supporters. If we hit that, we'll continue with a new goal in March!

Hey, look at that...Females DO make flash games... BWA HA HA HA HA!!!

IMPORTANT!!! - Anyone who is really stumped on this game, just click the option to "(Read More)" of this comment, and look at the end.

Also, it really is helpful to read the explanation at the end of the game. And if you didn't look at the credits, the painting in the hallway was Jan Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring", a painting I have been interested in before the book by Tracy Chavalier came out, which lead to a movie that came out last year by the same name. The second painting in the movie is supposedly a haunted painting in real life, and if you do a search for "Haunted Painting" you'll most likely come across it pretty quickly. The explanation the painter gave for the painting is what I based this game on to begin with. (I commented on most of that in the credits, but some people didn't bother looking)

*****HOW TO UNLOCK "THAT DAMN DOOR"****
There is a note on a piece of article underneath the rightmost couch cushion.
It says "between 1+1", which is supposed to mean between 1 & 1 on the clock in the kitchen. In other words, click in between the ones on the number eleven on the clock. You'll get it from there...

Really freaking good for a Newgrounds game from 2003. Well designed, great atmosphere, deep themes. I hope you continued to make games after you released this one, because I'd love to see more work from you. Only complaint was that it some of the text boxes you can open up, cannot be unopened. Really minor complaint and forgivable for the time it was released. Keep on rockin'!

Intense game

So this was an intense game you really made for a fun story too this one was jam packed with lots of fun ideas I really liked it so nice work

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
No changes on this fun game

OH MY

for such a simple game, the story sure makes itself known. I like how the game is different from all the rest of the point and click games where there are tons of puzzles and inventories and such, and instead focused on the story that it was trying to tell.

I was quite impressed by this! I admit that I'm not into point and click adventure games, but this was really flashy. Well, it set the mood perfectly. It was so nice to see the little details. You really were unraveling a mystery here. I just don't understand why you didn't have an inventory.

I guess you didn't need one. The sounds were certainly spooky. I just liked looking in all the rooms. Journals are always well detailed in games. Still mostly TLDR.

Pretty good especially for 2003
