I have been wanting to do a colab for quite some time and have come up with a good idea for one.

Altered Reality will be a colab where everyone takes the same base idea and runs with it.

The idea behind the colab is a chase scene, featureing a guy and a huge robot. I have included a base idea for what the scale of the robot compared to the guy is. The robot can change color slightly but it's base is a light gray.

The guy needs to be wearing black clothes and shades... take that however you want. Just try to keep the scale relative.

Each artist will get 10-15 seconds.

If you stop the robot in your animation make sure to animate him still alive in your animation so there is some flow into the next artist's piece unless you have talked with the next artist.

The due date is going to be near the end of August.

Frame by frame is prefered, but not manditory.

Maybe you could have Alternating robots and alternating "escapees" to make it easier?
Keeping the escaping theme, you could have like... Each time a different robot with a different character in a different country?

Sounds like a great idea! I just thought that if it was the same guy and everyone took their own twist on it this would be interesting for the artists and viewers to see how different everyone is.

I would be up for the multiple people and robots. Just keep the escape theme.

I've gotten a couple of emails about this so I think I will put up more details so everyone is on the same page.

The theme is "Escape from the robot." You can take this however you want.
Frame rate is 24.
There needs to be a background. (Unless the submission is clearly stylized)
10-20 seconds long.
Stage size is w=500 - h=300.
Stream all sounds.
Name all symbols and sounds uniquely (I.E. Jacksmack_symbol_1.)
Make sure that when you submit your work in .FLA format that your ENTIRE SUBMISSION is in a Movie Clip that can be transfered to another movie easily.

August 27th. 4 weeks should be more than enough time for everyone to get thier pieces done. So I guess I will make it official.

Ok If you want to give it a shot I'll let you join. Try to make it more animated, and not just stuff sliding around if you can. Have you ever done frame by frame animation?

So what kind of robotic are you thinking? like you want danciing robots? robots fighting?

Make it action packed if you can and remember to animate to the beat of the song.

The frame rate is how many frames are played per second.

ok thanks. The final question. At the end of this collab does the guy get killed? if so i would be interested doing this bit?, and what if someone does a robot that looks different in size matters? what will happen when i goes on to next person?

I would prefer if the guy survived. but if he doesn't that is fine. Just remember this isn't a gore fest... if it gets bloody or awful at any time you might be asked to redo it if it is to much.

a little blood is fine. But the robot tearing the guy to pieces and spreading blood on the camera might be a bit much... you know?

I'll handle putting the names on and everything so it flows. I will also more than likely wind up doing transitions between artists if needed.
