Any version, i have 8, and CS3 users can save as a flash 8 file. Aslong as it can take as2, its fine.

YOU MUST INTALL THE FONTS BEFORE OPENING THE FILE!!! Otherwise you get errors like this, install the fonts and re-open the .fla and it should work.

Good luck on the collaboration. I've had Flash for about a year and a half, and I'm just not interested anymore because I was never able to do anything good, no matter how hard I try. Seeing as how this year's collab. will have much more tutorials based on art, I may hopefully be inspired to try Flash once again!

P.S.: If I do get inspired to make a non-repulsive Flash because of you, I'll give credit where it is due. ;)

Should we put everything inside a MC or do we work directly in the template fla.?
Do we have to add the actionscript to the buttons and all that stuff? or de we just do the keyframes and let it run normally?

1. Just work on the stage, i'll convert it into a mc once it's done.

Well, the only AS that is working for me is the media player one. There is no actinscript at all in the buttons.

The coding is on a frame in the 'DON'T TOUCH' folder. Its fine, trust me.

Try re-opening the original template after you've installed the fonts and see if you get the same error.

Same. I don't think my mac is taking one of the fonts too well because flash gives me the the font error message.

I have finished with my AS3 Flex tutorial. I've included 3 swf files that need to be linked to some text. They're references to compiled code. I couldn't import them into the fla, so could you please upload them to a site and link them in the areas specified in the e-mail I sent you?

A mini-tutorial to help you download the fonts:
1) Download the package that Depredation sent you and open it with WinZip or an alternative program.
2) Find the computer's font folder on your C drive. If you're using Windows, it should be called something like C:\Windows\Fonts or something like that (if you're using a Mac, go find someone else to help you. :P).
3) Copy the fonts from Depredation's package and paste them into the font folder.
4) Your computer should now automatically download the font.

no freekin way.the problem is that i cant paste the fonts. i can copy them, but i cant paste them into my font list.

It's fine enq, it's just looping over and over because there is no Stop actionscript.
It may simply be an error on Deps part, I dunno, maybe it's just the way the template is. Once he imports to the main swf, maybe it'll work

FONT ERRORS

I don't have a mac, but here are the fonts for macs.

Try downloading them and unzipping them to wherever the font folder is on a mac. Then restart flash and it should be fine.
