I'm almost finished with my tut.
I'd like some comments on it. Right click/forward to see it.

Thanks.

Looks good Enq, but just fix up a couple spelling errors in it like not having capitals in some spots ;)

Otherwise it looks pretty good

I've already emailed my part to Dep

Thanks for the comments.
Is my name that hard to spell? XD i've seen some people make a lots of mistakes in it.

Also, if i have too much spelling mistakes, i'd thank you if anyone can point them out, cuz i'm not very good in English yet.

Thanks

If they're supposed to work you can always get them to work for now:

on (release) {
nextFrame();
}

on (release) {
prevFrame();
}

But Dep might've left them uncoded for now or something for a reason.

Ah dude, if you did this, it'd be awesome. I'd love to help, but I'm still new to animating. Good luck to everyone who is working on this.

BUTTON ISSUES

It is an error on my part, i didn't realize it wasn't included. I was going to put everything on the stage and have 1 large buttons layer, but then i decided it would be to much of a hastle and i forgot to transfer the buttons as layer to the example.

If you want to add AS to the buttons, do so, if not i'll do it once i receive your part, sorry for the inconvenience.

These two are available, so go ahead.

But it has a small error in it, so if you'd like to use it, just tell me and I'll PM you a link to a proper version

Nice loop, i'll add it, although i'm afraid i'm not going to pay for it, since it's just a short loop, sorry :(. You've got a lot of skill though.

Yeah, deviantArt Cocked up on me, so i've had to redo a lot. I'll put them up now, did i reply to your pm?

I did a "getting started" tutorial for illustrator, ill doo somethng more interesting later like a tutorial to create a character which will cover the basic tools. Since you dont have any list for illustrator tutorials i figured a getting started one might be usefull anyway

Response to The Tutorial Collab '07 2007-07-24 04:45:12

Since the buttons are actually MCs, you'll want to add _root before prevFrame and nextFrame (my other code won't work for you copy/pasters xP):

on (release) {
_root.nextFrame();
}
on (release) {
_root.prevFrame();
}

My part for AS3 is coming along nicely btw :D!

Response to The Tutorial Collab '07 2007-07-24 05:12:50

(They NEED an edit button >_<)

I'm adding a quiz at the end of my AS3 tutorial, and it gave me an idea.

What if whatever score they got on my quiz was added to a score variable, which unlocks some kind of arcade games, wallpapers and other rewards for learning from the tutorial?

Response to The Tutorial Collab '07 2007-07-24 05:17:24

Holy crap thats an awesome idea!
We should all come up with a small quiz page depending on what tutorials we did and then have a game at the end of it if you pass. That'd be freaking awesome lol

I'm doing the basic math tut right now and its almost finished - It's really detailed O_o

Sweet, glad you're with me xP.

I'm just thinking we all add a quiz at the end of each of our tuts, and your score at the end is added to a var like _root.score, and if you get certain scores you can go to some kind of unlockables page on the tut to get prizes and play mini-games etc.

Would certainly give people the incentive to learn from the tuts as well as be rewarded (not to mention it would bump the collab's score quite a bit)

Response to The Tutorial Collab '07 2007-07-24 06:12:21

YayzoRz!

I finished my first tut ever!
It's so detailed! O_o
15 page of bloody boring reading.

I'm going to sleep.

Isn't that overcomplicating things slightly?

Possibly, if Dep's against the idea, I'll just leave it with a quiz (which will be optional anyway).
