Heres my random movement part so far how could I make it better?

Right click and press forwards to go to the next frame.
You need more in-depth explanation of the actionscript
The pages are also rather empty : /

I thought it was good.

You bought an entire truck for the collab!?!
jk. Cool photoshop though. :D
Is my AS2 to AS3 tutorial any good?
Alse - please gimme feed back on my compute spectrum tut as well.

Both brilliantly set out, explained and labeled. If you are looking for an example of a perfect tut, these'd be them :). Send me the .flas.
Also, in as3, you can use Stage.mc, instead of parent.parent.mc.

Looks good, now put in the examples so we can see it :P

Gratz on the co-author trig1 XD lol

It's ok. I'd like to point out a couple things:
1. There are alot more properties that now range from 0-1 instead of 1-100 than just scaleX and scaleY. For instance, alpha.
2. No. 4 and No. 5 are exactly the same reason. Do "No. 4 (Continued)" or something like that.
3. For No. 6, you can just put a movieclip instance name and use that instead of all that complex OOP jazz.
I saw no problem with the tutorial otherwise.
It has come to my attention that the music is too loud to pay much attention to the tutorial.

thats AWESOME..but dont you need to make the variable i first?

You make it sound like I put them there xD

I'm going away for a few days soon, so don't expect any response from me between now and then.
Sorry for the lack of updates, it's taken longer than i thought. I'll go through all the 100s of pms today and make sure all the tuts are added.
I still need loads of parts.

Thanks!

Nah, you cant. Try it. Its one of the stupidist things about AS3.

As compute spectrum is in AS3, and the tut is in AS2, the examples are external, and meant to be on www.thetutorialcollab.com (or .co.uk, not sure). Example 2 , Example 1(example 1's much better) (denvish for the mo). Theres a big song in there, (I should probably change it to someing small) so just wait a couple of seconds.
Damn, pressed post too soon with the other one...

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that, whoops...
2. No. 4 and No. 5 are exactly the same reason. Do "No. 4 (Continued)" or something like that.
Yeah, I just realised there was some numbering issues. Thanks for pointing that out!

You mean the this.parent.parent one? No you cant. The point of explaining that was that if you were coding inside a MC, then needed to access something on the main stage.
I saw no problem with the tutorial otherwise.
Thanks, pointing out some flaws is what I wanted people to do. :D

Do you mean on the attach movie bit? I was assuming that they were making bullets or something with different instance names all the time, so 'bullet'+i is the norm.
:As compute spectrum is in AS3, and the tut is in AS2
Right, right, I forgot lol
The examples look cool
Heres a question, can you turn it into a swiff and use loadmovie in your tutorial (If Dep will host it at his site he's usin for the music)
And question two:
Will the spectrum thing work for whatever audio is coming out of the speakers?
lol Just re-read
:the examples are external, and meant to be on www.thetutorialcollab.com
You're actually doing what I said then correct? lol XD Great minds think alike ;)

Not quite, you can 't use loadMovie to load a .swf made in a newer flash player. With loadMovie you are loading both .swfs into one, with the same flash player, so if you imported a flash player 9 file into flash player 8 it wouldn't work.
Warchamp = @_@ *Dizzy*
lol I'm confused now, are his examples just going to be downloadable?

tell me what you think, i need to sort out spelling and stuff but what do you think of the acctual tutorial?
It was quite handy Fuzz. I don't know Illustrator and I did find it helpful. You need to be a little more specific in bits though, for example you say 'bring up the pathfinder window', I knew how to do this myself, but others may not know to go to Window / Pathfinder, so it may be worth adding that in brackets.

You could also go into what are good ideas to hold when using Illustrator, for example, this character is just 2d, what about a more 3d looking character? Like at an angle? Info like that would be coo, but I dunno how these tut's are, if that'd be nessecary or not.

A lot of tutorials use that method though. If you can't use logic to find it, then maybe you should try something simpler (Not you mogly, anyone who reads it)
I'm working on my More Math tut, and I hope to be done soon. It's looking pretty long though, I decided to add a bit about deprecated and obscure math functions and a bit more. Also, I hope to cover actionscripted tweens after this.
also, brilliant tutorial trig1
New sig! It's by me and fuzz, if anyone wants it, feel free to use it.

Very nice! Love the color scheme!
Can I suggest tutorials b the wawy? I think for AS2 there needs to be more on the backbone of scripting. Things like conditionals, hierarch...I would like to see those.

I don't think ignorance should be used against the reader in a tutorial should it..?

lol. I kinda like it. The quality isn't on that good side, though.
Made in flash, came out shit when I exported.
And when I tried to C&P it, it pasted bigger than the real size O.O
Okay, wtf...
I save as a jpg and it looks fine, newgrounds won't let me upload, it says wrong file type -.-
And then I save as a jpEg and it turns hideous, like wtf...
Anybody like this sig I made? Hope it's not too bad of a quality...
