I do what I can.

I wouldn't mind at all, if it makes the threads look nicer. Sure, animated sigs are nice, but it won't be the end of the world. Nothing to get worked up about.
Alright, what if we have a vote or a series of votes, take place. You can assemble the top users in the same fashion as the monthly voting, only have it based on posts. If it is done this way, no one can get pissed because the users will have been the ones to do the vote.
But, whatever.

That's actually the a good idea as the users will be the ones living with the change.

Because I like to make sigs that are either thinner or shorter than the max dimensions, it makes the sig look "centered" and having only two choices would ruin everything.
The sigs are perfect the way they are Tom, keep them.
I don't like this idea. I really don't. This is the only forum that will allow my sig. And I don't have the *.fla anymore. Seriously, what the hell? First the username nerf, then the new rules, now this? All for a new style and some more levels? What's next, only users with a B batting average or higher allowed tto submit more than one flash per month? A limit on the number of posts that can be made a day? A family-friendly section of NG?
And what's the big deal with 20 pixels? Can't the new style be accomidated to fit it?
It's just a sig, but sigs do hold things special, such as the neck. It's only 20 pixels, and to be honest, a forum is simply that. Nobody is going to come into the website looking for people with professional looking sigs and say "THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR" and try to get that guy to make sigs or something.
It really doesn't matter either way, but just remember that it is NG.
The sig sample I just saw looks nice and sleek unlike our current ones, but is it possible to find a way to adjust sigs so that they fit with the new layout.
Keep them the same, I'll never be able to part with my RoobyKillAll masterpeice.
*sniff*

Except it isn't. liljim knows how many unique hits NG gets a day and he knows well enough the ratio of unique hits to people who signed up.
I just hope it doesn't destroy that one thread with the long necked fellow.
My memory is slipping.
I think the problem is anything you do will result in people complaining. The question really is, which dicision will result in LESS complaining. There will always be complaining.

The thread was deleted.
Show us an example of both, perhaps... then we can decide, maybe?

Ah, that's unfortunate.

What does that have to do with anything?

Considering you were being sarcastic to somebody, who for all you know, was telling the truth.
I've also been coming to NG since 1944.

Again - what does that have to do with me knowing the ratio of unique hits to people who signed up?

I think he's trying to say that most of the unique hits are people who do not sign up at first, and might sign up later on, but I may be wrong.

That would imply that we keep records of every user, even those who don't sign up, from at least five years ago..... Which just doesn't happen.
Also, the number of people who're going to be affected by this whole change, at most, is about 30,000. Out of well over one million users (most of whom don't have sigs and who don't ever visit the BBS). We're actually dwelling over the smallest of small minorities here.
Wait. I think I read that wrong. Are you suggesting we're not only dicked out of sig height, but also animation? Hoo-fucking-rah.

Yeah. It's also the community part of NG. Y'know, the non-flash portion of Newgrounds that talks to each other by way of non-flash means. But hey, at least you'll have your spiffy new portal.

Exactly. Being it's such a minority, like someone said above, there should just be a vote by the top ranking users who post on the BBS to determine whether this happens. I mean it really comes down to the forum users.

I like that idea. A congress of NG. Maybe the top hundred. Or 250. Even if I'm not one of them, I'd definitely feel comfortable with whatever they decide.
And I was getting ready to martyr my account on behalf of animation. Oh well.
but I just made my sig. and I like it. although a redesign could be awesome.

Yeah, like a congress, but top hundred or top 250 based on what?
It can't be experience points, and I'm not sure if you want to do it by posts... So that would be tricky but I'm sure the admins could work something out.
This site is what it is because of voting, so it would be cool if this was done in the same matter.

You read one post out of this whole thread and cast assumptions on its relevance. Continue. I'll continue to think less and less of you, particularly since you make assumptions as to what I'm thinking, even though I haven't publicly voiced my opinions, one way or another, as to whether these changes would be a good or bad thing.
