To be honest I'm pretty sure getting rid of post count could help get rid of newbies who are trying to bump theirs just for stats. The level icons could be exchanged for profile pics, because how much you vote is not relevant on a Forum, it's what you post.

Because NG is a flash site there should be but more effort on promoting people who actually make flash. They are the people with lowest levels and post count, most of the time.

True, but those are blam/protection leves, which we don't see on the bbs. The ones we do see basicly tell us how friquently you've been visiting the site. You can vote on submissions that have already passed judgment.

Levels, in my opinion, should stay on the forums, it would ruin newgrounds if users were allowed to have there own image there, it would look horrible, the levels are what makes newgrounds, newgrounds.

I say animated sigs could be restricted. To say, mods and admins, maybe a new secret? I don't know.

I'm happy for it to change, Tom. Afterall, It really only takes about 5-10 minutes to make a decent sig.

You raise a good point - flashing animated GIF's do bring about an obnoxious 'look' to the site, but there are some exceptions - and quite honestly, hilarious ones.

I hate to sound like a bitch, but the sigs in this forums are already very small compared to others... if you shorter them even further there is pretty no much point for them to exist. The height is the most important part of them, and making it a 50% less is just killing them.

I really want the new layout to come, but not at these expenses. I don`t know what to say, I have no idea on how we can avoid this.

Althought I can`t talk bacuse I haven`t seen the new layout, and I don`t know how they will look within it, maybe it will look slik.

I think that the user pages compensate for this thought... I HOPE that we will be able to put as much images as we want in there >_>

It doesn't really matter. I don't care if we have to change the sigs. Hell, I wouldn't care changing mine. I'd just make a screenshot of it when it looks the best, and that would be my sig. And as you said, it would be better for the reading pleasure to not having things flashing and all that, it disturbs the eye when it reads. But meh.

Go for it. Some sigs just take up space, or flash aimlessly. Anyone worth their salt wouldn't mind resizing and getting rid of animations to be rid of obnoxious sigs.

I'm all for the resizing but I don't think you should ban animated sigs. Some of them are very very memorable.

Here is a suggestion. Make it so you have to have a certain number of legiment posts to be able to have animated sigs. Also just my opinion but I think people with flashy sigs need a nice and heavy ban.

Why not just eliminate all signatures?

You would piss off half of newgrounds for reformating there gif sig so I say stay with what you have now.

I don't really know. I thought the sigs were too thin already. And reducing the size would leave me with zero sigs, and many of us (like myself) don't make their own sigs. I just don't think that it would really be worth it. But it's so hard for me to say. Maybe you could run the forums with the rule for a week and see how everyone reacts, before making it permanent.

wouldn't piss me off at all. i wouldn't even care if there were no sigs. i do think that there will be a bunch of pissy replys though.

Best thing to do would be to test them out and look for feedback from the users rather than a 3rd party, if the majority of users think it looks like shit then change the size.
