Well, when the hurricane was at Cuba, a weather station in Florida was keeping in touch with a Cuban weather station, giving them updates on the hurricane and such by use of a "HAM Radio". Since they didn't know what was happening during the storm. (i.e. the exact area of where the hurricane was [it was in Cuba obviously at the time, but where the eye was and such])
I live in Miami (south east Florida), so nothing special has been happening, other than some unusually high speed winds. No rain though. Supposedly, the Tampa area hasn't gotten this big of a hurricane in 50 years. And I got a friend in Tampa. >_< Hope he's okay...
