At the time that I was starting to go to Newgrounds more and more often, I had been playing PLENTY of Armored Core...I forget which Armored Core it was, but the main stage of operation was on the Martian Moon, Phobos...I thought it was kinda cool that it was a moon with such a massive crater in the middle of it, that it kinda looked like the death star...

So then my Dad starts introducing me to all of this Sci-Fi, fantasy literature, some of it talking about moons not being hunks of rocks at all, but Alien ships and lost fragments of alien technology and shit, so I started putting two-and-two together and made, "Phobos Technology, Phobotech."...when I researched it further, I came to find that "Phobos" was originally the Greek God of Fear, and the son of Ares...I only grew to love the user-name more and more from there out...plus it's nothing like my actual name, where I've gotten nothing but ridicule, misspellings, and mispronunciations. (Geoff Galt) So it was a healthy escape from reality.

When I showed my friends my newly adopted moniker, a few of 'em said, "What, like Robotech?" and although I loved the show, I didn't mean it to be any reference, so early on in all of my reviews and even my Signature, I often capped off with the foot-note "Phobos Technology, Phobotech" to avoid confusion...after a while, though, I just said "Fuckit, let them think what they think."

...recently, some Newgrounders are led to believe I'm afraid of technology...because they are idiots...there is no "I" in my username...

Well, my very first username was on the Adult Swim message board as "knux2003".
After I left AS I went to a Sonic forum as "knux&rouge"
However when registering to a different forum, they didn't take the ampersan in usernames, so it was edited to "knuxrouge", to keep things safe and non-confusing, it stayed that way.

I took my name from the archangel Raguel after reading Neil Gaiman's short story 'Murder Mysteries'.

It's a story about angels working on the creation of Earth (before it was created obviously) where each angel has a specific function.

At one point, an angel is murdered (the first murder ever) and Raguel, the angel of justice is brought into being because that is his function.

Overall I chose the name because Raguel only cares about what logically makes sense and is right and would take on God himself if he thought that God had committed an injustice. The Catholic church itself is unsure as to whether Raguel is on the side of Heaven or Hell and I like that.

I will always call a person out if they've done wrong regardless of who they are and and I've lost a few friends temporarily because of it, but they always come back and either apologise or thank me for it so I felt that the name applied.

I was playing Warcraft 3 with a 7-year olds username, with my countrys tag on it (DK) then someone mixed it up for being Death Knight.
Then I thought something along the lines:
