Anyone can join, regardless of skill. If you wanna join, your in. Maybe make a mark of it and put it in your signature. As some people know, I'm in the progress of making a symbl that people can customize for their sigs. I might abandon this idea, but who knows?

Um not to great but a bit of what I got

Well, I'll level with you, those sprites aren't the greatest. No offense meant though, you can still join if you want to improve your skills, but simply recoloring sprites doesn't mean much. Practice makes perfect though...

Like IncurableGimp said, you're more than welcome to join. We'll be glad to have you! This group isn't just for folks who are great at sprites, but for the people who are just learning - like me.

I think what may be the problem with your sprites is your choice of color. They're all too close to each other at the bottom range of the cool colors (violet, blue, green). Try mixing it up a bit. Try coloring using complimentary colors to make the images really pop. Recoloring sprites is a good way to practice color scheme, but you'll ultimately want to learn to customize your own. Keep practicing. Best of luck to you! Remember, if you can't find the answers in this thread, don't be afraid to ask. Cheers!

Then you weren't reading the entries. Part of the payoff of learning new things is doing the research and finding stuff out for yourself. There are times when you NEED to ask questions because the answers just aren't out there, but you can't expect anyone to take the time to help you if you don't take the time to help yourself.

can someone just tell me how? or at least what page?

Here's a hint - page 4.

I'm not trying to come off as harsh - sorry if I am. People tend to retain more when they've learned something for themselves than by having the answers handed to them. Most people on this forum invest the time in themselves to learn and come across with great results. I'd like to see you do the same. Good luck! Cheers!

That looks great! It reminds me of a mix between the Speedman you did and a clone trooper from Episode II. Which sprite sheet did you customize from?

If I had to guess I'd say he used Vile.

just drag the sprite on to the stage. if you want to change one sprite for another eg.if your making a sprite walk frame by frame and youve got one standing in a normal pose right click on it and got to swap symbol then select the walking sprite from the list flash brings up for you.(this way you dont have to keep resizing them).

ppl of the sprite club i have a new animation submitted
a new animation its a sonic v mario aimation. i was trying out my new sprites using th technique i explained above. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view.php?id=110486

Not too shabby, Niko1uk! I have a couple of suggestions, if you don't mind.

1) CAPTIONS - colored captions against a multicolored background become a little hard to read. Try using elipses to make white word balloons so your text really pops.
2) SOUND - I liked the MK music, but try some fighting sound fx along with it to make the battle more exciting.
3) BACKGROUND - It was a little fuzzy. Have you tried "Trace Bitmap" for the background? I'm not really sure if that works since I haven't tried it myself, but if you use it as if you were creating a sprite, it may make the background scalable (sp?) without making it fuzzy.

I look forward to seeing more sprite Flash content from you! Good job!

If that's true, then Ghaleonx5z is a sneaky monkey! He wrote, "If I had to guess I'd say he used Vile." Nothing like inside information!

And what's with posting "old, and I mean OLD" sprites - simply recolored, no less? Post some "new, and I mean NEW" ones that are more than just a change of color! You've defintiely got the talent so show it off! ;)

Response to Sprite Club 2003-07-21 11:33:43

'k...

i saved the head of this one fore my Majinman.
