By the way, Castlevania SoTN Alt End is HILARIOUS! The sprite animation is great! Good job!

No problem.

And thanks for the review Doc, glad you liked it. That movie is the best one I've done so far in terms of sprite work.

That depends, what kind of backgrounds are you looking for?

Well anything pretty much. Since I can't really find any. But if you know of any that are from RPG's that would be cool. Otherwise anything :)

Ghaleonx5z - I ripped through the Web a bit looking for video game backgrounds and came up with bubkes. I'll keep looking. Hopefully Zenxin has a few answers for you.

Zenxin - Do you have any other Flash projects currently in the works?

-Majin- - Well, that Link is ... small! It looks good! When you say, "DON'T think i get that sprite from somewere! i made it from my game boy player!", do you mean you used it as a reference and drew it freehand?

TOPBRICK - I understand you still need help animating sprites. It's not easy for someone just starting out. Just refer to and write what it was that you didn't understand from the animation description on Page 5 and we'll work from there. Also, post a sprite on this thread that you cleaned up so we can make sure you're doing it right.

Well, those are all the questions / comments fit to print for now. Currently, I have some voice work to finish up and, if there's time, I'm off to finalize a script to showcase some of my original sprites.

uuuh some questions:
1. What program do you use for cutting sprites out from a sheet?
2. Whats an emulator?

1.you can just use flash. doc posted instructions earlier on in the thread on how to do this.

2.an emulater is basically a program that plays old games. from old consoles like the nes or snes.you can alo get ps2 emulaters and xbox emulaters but youll need a really fast comp to use them.

Okay, what was it on the Page 5 animation description that you didn't understand? We'll work from there.

and how to make your own.

If you have MS Paint, I don't know how that works well enough to help. From a great deal of posts I've read on the NG BBS, MS Paint is a horrible program to use for drawing. I personally don't know. Maybe someone else here has the answer for you. There is a description of how to make your own on a higher end program like Adobe Photoshop if you can get a hold of it. The description is on Page 6.

also when i saved a animated pic it had gif on the prpoitys and when i put it to flash it had about 4frames and it animated how did they do this

Open the Flash library and see what images are in there. Compare them to the ones in each of the frames and you'll be able to see exactly how they animated it. As an exercise, create another timeline / layer, create four frames and match up the images to the ones in the original frames. This'll help you work it out by actually doing it.

ps this pic was done whith paint cos i havent got flash on this comp

Where do you have access to Flash? The white bounding box around the character has to be removed or else you won't be able to use the character on anything but a white background. Copy the instructions on how to remove the background from your sprite sheets in Flash on Page 4 and bring a disk containing your sprite sheets to whichever computer has the Flash program on it. Separate them in Flash and save the Flash file so now you'll have sprites to animate. Good luck!
