Every day, over 150 games and movies are submitted to Newgrounds. You guys have blammed over 300,000 of them over the past eight years, but almost 140,000 remain and many precious gems have gone undiscovered.

Each year we have a Treasure Hunt competition, where everyday users are invited to spotlight overlooked submissions. We have traditionally asked everyone to point out FUNNY submissions, but this year we would like to invite ALL overlooked submissions to be suggested. Games, movies, serious and funny.

A submission is considered undiscovered if:

1) It isn't part of a collection.
2) It has never been front paged, in which case it likely has less than 20,000 views.

In past treasure hunts, we have found gems like these:

This year, the door is wide open for a lot more!

Respond to this post with THE BEST submissions we haven't seen. One good way to find them is to search for random words and browse the results. Sometimes the best submissions don't have a high score or a lot of views. While combing through the site, never hesitate to add submissions to your FAVORITESlist! It's a great way to keep track of obscure stuff that you may never stumble across again.

To spice things up this year, we've introduced a new featurefor "rich content linking" or whatever you wanna call it. Simply paste the full URL of a submission as a standalone line of text, and our forum will convert it to an attractive submission link like the ones you see above. This also works for music, but we'll visit that in a future thread! You can recommend multiple submissions but don't go crazy or people might ignore you. We are looking for THE BEST OF THE BEST.

Whoever makes the BEST discovery will win $250, a newgrounds t-shirt and a bunch of stickers. We will announce the winners after I get back from Japan, so it will be at some point during the week of October 20th! That gives everyone TWO WEEKS to respond to this thread before judging starts. GO GO GO!

NOTE: If you have any issues that need to be addressed in the next two weeks, please PM Wadebecause I will be checking in sporadically from Japan and the Tokyo Game Show. Don't forget to log in and vote for the Best of September if you were one of the top 2000 active users last month!

Yu Ji (bad-asi) is my favorite author that nobody knows about. His asi-Dream Fairy series should have its own collection category and Eevee Party 2 is absolutely incredible (and with only 24 reviews!). at least 5 minutes of completely handdrawn eevees as far as the eye can see with some damn cool effects on the side. I'm a big fan of A si's work, and if somebody were to notice this and watch his movies i would be grateful and happy, because this guy deserves it.

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/33 5508 These are all 6 of the asi-Dream Fairy series

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/43 1774 And the best for last....Eevee Party 2!

I don´t know if this has been posted, or maybe it was even in last years treasure hunt, but i have it in my favourites, and it has no awards, no collections etc...

This is great and deserves more recognition..

Check out "Don't Kill The Ninja"

The first one leaves you a bit lost but I love the style. Part 2 is my favorite, I wish the creator would have closed the story but, oh well; still enjoyable.

It's funny how far flash has come as well as artists. If this were posted 6 or 7 years earlier I'm sure it woulda have destroyed the portal. A little hard to understand but still aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.

"Listening Post"

Last one, I remember the days of tackling tigers and trying to fight sharks with sticks, ha. Not the best graphic wise, but still worth a look considering the time period as well as effort and humor.

"Marooned"

Great flash back from the times when KK was alive, it actually was quality and great shit etc

Never won anything as Kottbullar fucked up the script for play button, and for first ~200 votes everyone had to rightclick and select play. Because right-clicking flash this is a secrect knowledge, it attracted 0's like hell. Adding that, and KK's reputation, you get pretty clear idea how many people didn't gave a fuck and 0'd it without watching it.

In result, it didn't won a daily, and got stuck with 600+ votes and bit over 2.6 k views. Thanks to votes of people who randomly stumbled across it, score got boosted to 3.96. If that was the score at the time when it was submitted, this would've win daily #1, and maybe get into weekly top 5 thing noone cares about.

In short, great flash got dicked for good because of typo in the AS in version that was online for ~15 minutes. If something deserves to win a contest about overlooked flashes, this is the right flash imo
