Yeah but you see the other consoles outsold the PS2 this year, the PS3 did not. That does make you look a bit bad.

I'm sure some people were turned off by the RROD, no doubt about that. But if you recall the PS1 and PS2 had a high failure rate, if not higher than that of the 360 and they both did very well. If a console is fun, and has games people will keep getting it repaired/buying new ones.

Well, the PS1 and PS2 got away with it because the alternative consoles kind of sucked in comparison. The N64, Gamecube, Dreamcast, and Xbox certainly had a lot of great games, but it wasn't comparable to the PS1 and PS2. I'll admit that the same thing happened in 2007. The 360 certainly had a better game lineup in 2007 and was the better option even with the hardware failures. In 2008, however, when it appears that the PS3 may have a better game line-up, more customers might get pissed off.

Also, I hope the Crysis rumor is true. It seems kind of hard to believe since Crytek has gone on record saying neither the 360 nor the PS3 can handle Crysis. I guess that was back in 2006 though. Maybe they made some breakthrough and discovered consoles aren't as crappy as they thought.

I agree, I do see a better line up this year for the PS3. I see the 360 in second. And then I really only see 1 or 2 big games for the Wii. But those are huge games at that. Brawl being one of them. It could suck completely but it'll move consoles anyway. Just like Halo 3 did to the 360.

I predict that at E3 Microsoft will announce some big sneakers (as well as the other companies) but big ones to really compete with the PS3's strong line up.

I would have to agree. The Wii doesn't really need high-quality games though. Put Mario or something cute on the cover and it'll sell. Smash Bros should convince some of the real gamers to pick up a system though. I mean, the Wii's pretty cheap and it's not a horrible deal if all you want to play is a few games (Zelda, Metroid, Galaxy, Brawl). I got one at launch just for that reason. There will be a few others I buy though like No More Heroes and Mario Kart. Maybe Animal Crossing if I like the way it looks.

Possibly at GDC as well. Microsoft has not really talked much about their lineup in 2008. Last year's E3 was all about their holiday lineup. I'm sure they'll have some new stuff to show. Left 4 Dead and Ninja Gaiden 2 will be nice games regardless of what else they have to announce. They would have to have a pretty huge number of games to match the PS3's I think. The 360 will still do fine by games though. What they have is good and adding all the multi-platform stuff makes it fine.
