Fuck, I forgot about that.
Internet porn isn't as good as a DVD.
Very true. Although it still can't carry the player; VHS still had other production companies supporting it. A single "genre" (very liberal use of the term) won't work because the average person won't have an HD-DVD player, and won't spend $250 (or whatever they cost) so they can watch porn.
If blu ray does decide they will have porn then that's it. Game over HDDVD. But I don't know how porn on DVD could decide a format war.
Hey, porn is a multi-billion dollar industry. And internet porn isn't enlarging that figure, either.

Did you seriously just compare Resistance and Uncharted to Bioshock, Gears of War, or Halo 3 (even though Halo is the most overrated of the bunch)?
No, I'm just saying that Sony managed to get out more Triple-A games in less than half the time.
Well, if you count from launch, then yes. But Microsoft got 3 AAA games out in a year, while Sony only got 2, which, according to critics, are only AAA compared to the rest of the Sony line-up.
That and the fact that I highly prefer playing my FPS games on Nintendo consoles(Goldeneye and Umbrella Chronicles, anyone?)
Yeah, good luck with that. The only reason you prefer FPSs on Nintendo consoles is because they only make 5 of them per console. Granted, all of them are good, but if you only got 1 console and you want to play an FPS, you have more variety going else where.
Come on now, I'm a Sony diehard and still know that, even though Resistance and Uncharted are great games, they don't stack up nearly as well against any of those 3 titles.
Isn't Uncharted at it's base Gears with fancy platforming and treasure?
True, but the story in Gears is better, and it's fucking impossible to shoot anyone from a distance in Uncharted. And Uncharted still needs to work out some of it's gameplay mechanics, since its not a traditional 3rd person shooter.
And I haven't actually seen any footage of Bioshock, so I'm completely clueless as to what it plays like.
It's more imersive, and very scary from what I've heard. Rather than just being a camera on 2 legs and 2 arms, the camera actually acts like a person's head would; you (slightly) look at your gun as you reload, when you get punched the camera moves to the side or whatever direction you got punched, ect., ect. From what I've seen and heard, it seems like the best game of all time.
creating the best looking(console) game to date with half the knowledge of how to use the hardware still counts for something, though.
Yeah, the PS3 is a whole lot more powerful than the 360, but as of yet, it's still considered equally powered. But once the new Star Wars comes out, we may see the subtle differences in graphical power like during the last generation.

If they come out...ever.
They'll both be pushed back into '09 due to some strange reason.
Is it just me, or am I the only one that cares more about RFOM 2 than either LBP or Killzone(although the first one was pretty fun) combined and multiplied by twenty?
Yeah. Hopefully Killzone will live up to it's once "Halo-Killer" nickname, even though it's first outing was pretty damn good.
But LBP looks to be that game. The game that, no matter how cool/manly you are, you buy it.

For instance, how is it that all earlier Naughty Dog and Insomniac games regularly got scores in the high 9's, yet seem to not be able to make fun games. Easy, people are either being fanboys, or are not playing the actual games.
True, but one of those series is new, so story and gameplay needs to be worked out, and R&C got at least 9's from where I come from (EGM).
But saying that Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank didn't deserve the score they got on the PS2 just made me hate you. They were some of the best Action-Platforming games on the PS2, and while they did stray from the Platforming aspect in later installments, still had that element of fun, humor and just sheer awesomeness flowing across the screen.
Even though I'm not a huge R&C fan, I would have sex with Jak.
Halo raped us.
Hypefests mean nothing to me(except FF). Especially if they serve nothing more for the fans than $50+ expansion packs for the online mode. I asked a friend what he considers the Halo sequels(and remember that this guy is quite cynical), and he responded with exactly what I just said.
You are right; Halo was highly overrated. So much so, that I think some people got some money to boost the scores up a little. It is fun, and there is so much you can do, but it's not worth all the hype it was given.
