Thanks, it's just that the format you posted it in REALLY did hurt my eyes, and I found that reading anything after that hurt. I kind of got the hint that there was a hidden message around the bottom due to what some of the other users were saying.

Anyways, I hope you don't categorize me with the "tldr fags" because I skipped out on some of the message.

Yeah, I wouldn't ever recommend reading like that to anyone. Somewhere on the first page I admit to just wanting to make NG's longest post ever, but I needed it to actually have decent substance if I wanted it to stay. Hence the embedded arguments. Drama ensues on page 3.

I really only dislike it when people actually say "tldr" (or something similarly lazy) in earnest. You were more of: "Look, I didn't read it all [reason], but here's my opinion on the general themes that I did take in," which is fine.

I read about 2/3 of that before my eyes started burning. I was trying to read it sideways and it just kinda killed my head. So I gave up eventually. As for why people post in a thread with lots of paragraphs with out reading it, I think it's they just want to seem like a smart ass, or they'll skim through it and find a point they want to argue and just argue that to seem intelligent.

That's really weird though. I've never thought of that.

Thats quite an unorthodox method to test someone's will to read and reply competently. Just goes to show how many NG users just don't see to care.

Hehe, I'm aware of the date of this post, and I would like to say: it's probably patience, curiosity, and a lack of things to do! Though I did end up tilting my neck.

I do agree not every thread should be long and detailed. Even I'm not boring enough to endure that, but I just hate people just wanting to be funny, or to get their number up by one by posting "tl:dr" or something on a thread which is clearly intended to be an actual discussion of sorts. Yeah, I ignore it, but it will piss me off time to time.

I've made joke threads on the subject actually, quite often with some ironically hilarious replies, and sometimes with a reward in the middle of a fairly long paragrpah as a reward to the reader.

It means "too long, didn't read". People post it when they feel lazy and can't be bothered to read long posts, or I think Zerok gave another reason, but I'm not about to go back and check.

In topics as long as this one, I usualy take the time to read ALL posts before I reply, but I admit that I did not this time, after reading your original post, my eyes were watery...it brought tears to my eyes to see such dedication and such truth.
