At least Treyarch is trying new stuff (Gritty WW2, Vietnam), as opposed to IW (WW2, Modern, Modern 2, Modern 3).
How can you say Modern Warfare 3 isn't new stuff? While it isn't technically new to the franchise the game itself is one of the most original pieces yet (apart from Black Ops) because it isn't set in this day and age, it's the future.

If it is one of the most original pieces, why must they practically steal the opening from Crysis 2? Why must they use the same sounds and basically same graphics? This game wreaks of un-originality. Hell, its basically how everyone thought MW2 was going to be original and new. Same with Blops.

DLC is being held back from people who aren't subscribed to Elite.

Or has that changed?

That hasn't changed, everything is still optional. Plus all DLC will be purchasable at a later date.

But still. Content is complete and they hold it back from other people just to add another reason for someone to buy an Elite subscription. Holding back content to make monneeeyzz.

The $50 for one year of XBL DOESN'T INCLUDE the DLC, but you still do get it early.

Is this now an argument of PS3 > Xbox? Or do you really think that Elite gets you an Xbox Live subscription?

My point in the first place was that the DLC was being held back so it would seem like a feature and get more people buying it. If Infinity Ward can release DLC "early" to PS3 and PC players because of Elite, then they should be able to release it to those players who aren't using Elite anyway. I'm sure Elite subscribers on PS3 and PC will still get everything a month later anyway. You can't argue that it isn't greedy for them to not release finished content so they can get more people buying Elite subscriptions.

And it wasn't greedy of Microsoft to have them not release finished content so they could get more people buying the 360 version of the game?

I didn't say it wasn't.

ITT: Travis RWG and Makeshift.

Why is it that a company temporarily withholding its own content from some of its audience is such a big fucking deal?

Oh shit, only one page back.

Well this thread seems to be going well...

I'll be just using the free version of Elite, (or not at all, I'm not terribly interested in it) I very much doubt I'll get all the DLC as it's usually a ripoff.

I can see people being sick and tired of CoD multiplayer if the 20 prestige rumour is true.

I guess it depends on how much you play. I'd never bought any map packs before Black Ops, but the guys I started playing with all buy the new map packs so I copied them, just to be able to play, but it does add some verity to the game until you become used to all the new maps.

I've definitely had £40 worth of fun from the four Black Ops maps, but when you look at it like that, I've spent £80 on that game in total.

I wish they'd give us Shipment or something similar. That was awesome for private games. Mike Myers and moon matches ftw.

I sure hope that rumour is not true. 15 prestige levels was a stretch in BO. I wish they go back to 10.

The 15 prestiges in Black Ops was the easiest of all the Call of Duty games, 15 on Modern Warfare 2 would take twice as long.

It's a widely known fact that I hate CoD more than any other game and more than anyone else, but come on, did you really have to bump the thread after 3 days of no posts just to bash it?

You don't like it, don't get it. But being naive enough to believe anyone cares about what you think is incredibly ignorant. Trust me baby I know, COD "forumula" never changes. Just new guns, new enviroments, different killstreaks and different single player. But you know what? People do. not. care. So what if each gave is like an expansion of the first? People like it. People want to play it.

Captalism is a bitch but it puts food on the table so hey, better than if they spent their money on some foriegn product like Sony, Toshiba or the like. Activision is founded in America, which gives us jobs and their products reel in more cash than if we just tarrifed imported goods from Japan. The "formula" works. Don't blame COD, blame the people that buy it.

You know, I would've like to see more weapons in MW3. The m1014, PP-2000, Ranger, FAL, 93R, SCAR-H, Mac 10, M202, TAR-21, and Intervention should've been brought back. There should've also been other weapons like the Saiga 12, M32 (instead of M320), Tac 50, Vintorez, Aug A3, 500 Magnum, PP-19 Bizon (instead of PP-90), Uzi, M3 Super 90, HK416, and REC7.

There doesn't need to be more, it would just add more balancing issues.

"Most anticipated" is a subjective term. There's no way to prove it either way.

Well, doesn't it have the most preorders of all time... I think that counts as most anticipated.

Judging by the state of single player campaigns for most modern FPS games, you can't blame me for assuming that this will most likely be everyone's reaction.
