I'm sure they have separate rank limits though, on that Gamespot video, when they were showing everything on Create-a-class, I'm sure I saw underneath the last assault rifle 'Unlocked at Commander (Level 78)' unless I was seeing things. Eh, doesn't matter though I suppose, still a ridiculous level cap regardless.

At 9/3/11 11:08 AM, simon wrote: If you buy 4 map packs (the amount that is usually brought out) during a year, you are roughly spending $70-$80.. if you buy CoD premium for $50 you get all of that EARLY, this isn't for anyone except people who want to support CoD and get something back for that.

Fair enough, but other features the premium service offers can be used in other games for free, not to mention that the majority of DLC maps tend to be complete shit, and paying for this service on top of an Xbox Live Gold subscription is just too much. Anyway, I'm not here to start another argument and I know the service is entirely optional, end of story.

Let's say there's 4 map packs (like in Black Ops).

If each map pack is $15 (as they always are), then that's $60 just for DLC.

Yeah, I get what you're trying to say.

If you spend $50 on a year of CoD premium, then all the DLC's free.

No, you've just spent $50.

If you get the hardened edition for $100 (just $40 more than the base version), then you get a free year of CoD premium, which translates to free DLC.

No, it's not free, you just paid $40 for it. The hardened edition comes with about $5 worth of stuff that isn't that subscription.

So the deal is: $60 just for DLC, or $40 for DLC & extra hardened features & extra premium features.

Yeah, so the DLC isn't free.

Something I thought was pretty cool about the premium account was that you get DLC earlier sometimes and you get something every month. So you'd get a new multiplayer or spec ops map every month. Something like that.

It means something, you know.

I thought you guys might be interested in the real life Scrapyard paintball map. Looks pretty shit to be honest, considering they had like $902894834653 for this event.

I don't know if anyone cares, but I was interested in these tweets. I think after seeing a bit more, I'm willing to give it another chance. I just want to hear more information.

Not really all that excited about this one too be honest with you guys. I like MW2 well enough, but Black Ops kind of tarnished my view of CoD. The games just don't change enough to feel new and keep my interest through the years.

I feel the same way, and I likely won't be getting Treyarch's next game. However, Infinity Ward has always been solid, and MW3 looks like a great addition to the series.

It looks too much like MW2. There is staying true to your roots... and the there is pushing out the same shit every year.

You guys don't realize this isn't the finished product, I mean it won't change drastically but the build they were using was made for CoD XP only.

I dont see what all the fuss is about, you don't have to buy all the DLC. I didn't, and still have a reasonable amount of fun with the game. And that's if they release DLC (Which they probably will) at the same price. Yes, the super editions of the game aren't worth it, but you dont have to buy it either. Unless they start releasing thing that would give other players an advantage in the better editions, then its fine if people want to double there costs for silly extras.

I always buy extra content for games.. Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout.. they announced that they're going to be releasing things monthly on Call of Duty now and I'd rather get it with the Elite package than whine about it being £11.99 each time. I like being up-to-date with maps because my clan always gets the maps and they make me get them.

It's bullshit that IW is actually going to hold completed content back from players who don't have an Elite subscription just so they can get people to pay extra money for Elite. Evil tricks.

I thought one of the things they were promoting with this was no extra content was going to be available for elite only members, just like a week early or something.

Hence the name Hybrid Scope, silly Obi :3

Also, watched the briefing vid for CoD XP and the cheer that Bowling got when he said there's no last stand was awesome. I'm actually looking a bit more forward to it now having watched that, I guess I can live with playing what is essentially a tarted up MW2.

You can't have panic knifing without lunge.

You're wrong. If I'm shooting at someone who's really close to me, they turn around and get scared, they squeeze their controller and panic knife.

And the lunge is gone.

No, the range was just reduced a bit. In some gameplay I saw, I noticed it was actually a pretty far distance still.

You really have to stop sticking up for everything Infinity Ward does, you sound like a ridiculous fanboy.

Or maybe it's a sign that pathetic insults are no substitute for an ACTUAL argument.

I didn't realize calling you a fanboy was an insult and that it somehow replaced what I was saying. If that's how you see things, then you should really stop focusing on someone's "insult" and look at what they're actually trying to say.

How can you say Modern Warfare 3 isn't new stuff? While it isn't technically new to the franchise the game itself is one of the most original pieces yet (apart from Black Ops) because it isn't set in this day and age, it's the future.
