So who's gonna have a sex slave in this game?

I hope they keep it tasteful, if they do put sex in the game. Not outright human/furry/lizard/orc (eww) porn, but none of that stupid Mass Effect / GTAIV crap where they cut to a black screen and audibly tell you how "great" your character is in the sack.

Well you can get that kind of entertainment anywhere on the internet nowadays, i just hope the dragon fights are half as fun as their being advertised to be...

Am I the only one who just doesn't care at all about the whole romance part of the game? I mean I'm happy that they're giving people this option, but it just isn't something I'm interested in even delving into within the game, it just seems rather silly to me.

With that said, I'm looking forward to Skyrim as a whole. I can't wait for all of the mods that will come with it either.

Same here. I can't imagine them doing anything interesting with it, since you can marry anyone, and Bethesda's writing is sub-par, so they won't be able to deliver a believable romance story. It's going to amount to an NPC living in your house telling you about his dangerous encounters with mudcrabs, and fade-to-black sex (which is still better than Bioware-style softcore porn, though). There's absolutely no point to the whole romance aspect, except to appease their teenage fanbase.

Imagine, the time spent on the whole marriage thing could've been used to make a combat system as good as the one in Dark Messiah.

I've seen the minimum requirements for the game and I could possibly play it after all. Of course, performance won't be great to me but hey, I'll see what the mods can offer at a later point... Or I get a better computer.

The servants already did this on Oblivion. I never interacted with them other than when I first got them because they weren't all that exciting. I imagine they'll be a little more creative in Skyrim but it's not a feature I can see myself using much other than if it were to unlock an achievement. The whole 'family' thing doesn't appeal to me in games.

I have yet to see a single game get the whole romance thing right. It's usually pretty cringeworthy.

I know I'll check out the Marriage option when I get into the game, I want to know just how it runs and what kind of benefits and consequences come with it, and also what other options become available in the game because of it.

But if it's every game day I get a message saying something like "YOUR WIFE NEEDS ATTENTION - TRAVEL BACK TO YOUR HOUSE OR SHE MAY LEAVE YOU" then fuck that shit.

Response to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 2011-10-28 13:02:59

I assume that the romance feature will lead to a "Be less bitchy." spell?

As far as I can remember the servant was one of the 'upgrades' for your home but I think Rosethorn Hall (Skingrad house) was the only one that could have a servant. They didn't do much either from what I recall. You could ask them for a meal or drink and they probably told you some mildly interesting stuff to pursue.

I just think of the wife system from Fable 2. I don't recall ever bothering with that at all, although I think there's an achievement on that for getting married or having someone live with you so I may have done it for that.

This lucky bastard is probably playing Skyrim at this very moment. And it isn't fake. That guy works for joystiq and that's his review copy of the game.

Sorry for going off-topic, but where does the 'Macs are better for art/editing/development' thing come from? How are they superior to a Windows PC with Photoshop/Flash/UDK/whatever installed?
