You could have mentioned if the lighting map showed the highlights or shadows. Would have helped give some suggestions about lighting.

Maybe try enlargening the guy getting mauled to give the picture some (dramatic) perspective. Also, as far as I've noticed from shields, they tend to hane the handles posistioned so that the hand would go over the middle line of the shield. I know I'm making little sense so I'll just show a viking shield and hope my point is understandable.

for the lulz, you could always make that mace a banhammer =P

does anyone know if the prize or rules changes or anything if you lived outside of the US?

Ah, its a sunset scene, the sun wont be in the picture, but the (rudimentary) lightning map shows the orange from it.

Yeah, xcept this is a really big shield, so you have the grip in you hand, and the shield rests on your lower arm... Ill add strap for that... The shield might still very well be changed, to give it more of a gothic feel..

Dont think I will, its the red castle crasher you see, he wears the mace, the guy in front is based on the industrialist.
I will make the mace a bit shorter though... perspective would come out better that way.

The prizes remain the same, but you must sing your country's anthem (in your native language if other than English) while creating your submission or you will be disqualified.

Yes, you can post it in the portal, DA, etc... be sure to mention it's for this contest (maybe even include a link/url to the thread) so the contest get some exposure ;)

Is it legal to submit something to the contest, and then decide later that you need to update it, and then re-submit it? Or is that not allowed? (i.e. once you submit it's your final answer sort of deal)

Cuz I highly believe I'm done... But I might see something later that I need to tweak, and would like to know if it'd be ok to change that.

omg!! that's totally illegal ...your artistic license will be revoked immediately. You will be fined 1,000 exp points and will have to complete 30 hours of community service by posting in the General Forum (a punishment worse than death, I know! ...but we don't mess around here in the Art forum).
