The "Related Content" info needs to re-populate with proper results. Until then you will see a lot of content that doesn't feel very related... The end result should be much better.

If you want to test the "Max Size" button, which makes Flash fill the width of the layout, try it on these!

You can still open Flash in a pop-up as well, and the moon icon dims the lights, like the lightbox layout we had before this. Give it a minute to soak in and let us know if anything is totally broken.

Everyone thank PsychoGoldfish, Liljim and Bob!

The header and foot info box stuff should be adjusted to the new width, the rest is cool. Also maybe the box that recommends stuff on the right should always feature like, 2 pieces of the auther of the viewed work as well.

Can i complain? please, please, please :P
nah, seriously now, the idea in core is okey and fine but for people (like me) who gets subscribers emial about "best of the day" and who, after reciving the email, are clicking on each of the animation to open in diffrent tab - its damn anoying. and this is because of lots of artists add music or SFX to the preloader or even worst - they dont have the preloader which results in 0-5 animations being started and played at the same time which then results in masive lag and sound/music chaos. its not you fault Tom, but you need to bear this in mind. i would like to have a choice if i want to start the flash loading, please. otherwise we'll end up like youtube. just the flesh version.
other then that - good job =)

Best Regards and sorry for my misrable english

Right, the layout is great and all, but I've noticed a flaw.

"JUDGMENT"? Yeah if you are an American. What about Brits? Should be Judgement.

I suggest you change the spelling of JUDG(E)MENT to the correct local spellng based on where the user is from. And I'm sure liljim will agree with me here. (GO BRITFAGS!)

Got enough ads on these submission pages? Sheeeesh. Some way to treat the users that upload their flashes here. Spam their submission with ads all over the page.

The "you might also enjoy" flashes shouldn't be placed on the side of the flash either, maybe somewhere away from the flash. I think it's somewhat disrespectful to the artist with all the ads already. Submitting should be about getting feedback and spotlight on the user that has submitted, not "LETS CLICK ALL THESE ADS AND VISIT OTHER FLASHES INSTEAD CAUSE THEY LOOK MORE IMPORTANT AND STAND OUT MORE THAN THE FLASH IT SELF" It's put me off submitting here. It's widescreen yet it looks so claustrophobic.

after reading some others posts i understand the need to display more content easier like youtube,

but seriously there is a real lack of layout design here,
the flash viewing area takes up too much space and is often dead space.
Details like author name, author comments, reviews are harder to see.

i really hate having the flashs load automatically, your wasting bandwidth and i don't mean just yours i mean mine some of us live in a third world country where internet is expensive. when i click a link to a flash i like to see the icon or snap shoot, read the authors comments and read some reviews first before viewing the flash.

Brilliant :D
Especially the option to make the movie widescreen, this helps because my films are 720x408, which is born to be widescreen :D
Only one bad side though, the blocks dont fit together, I mean it as in the rating meter is just in the middle of a box instead of fitting where it should go (congrats if you made ANY sense of that)
But apart from that, it was a really good change :D

This new layout isn't a matter of "getting adjusted", it's just flat out terrible...

For one, the recommended movies on the side of the flash content is FAAAAR too intrusive, and the flash box is bulky as hell.

There is absolutely NO REASON for the flash to be embedded into the info page, this is making a lot of flash auto-play now. (What if I ONLY wanted to check score or reviews?!)

Tom, this is going to substantially drain your bandwidth because of stat-whores.

Oh, and another critical thing.
Because the flash auto-loads, you've left the flash portal wide open to abusive and malicious flash files, great job.

The new design looks great, and there are some obvious advantages in having the content auto load.

However, a lot of content wasn't made to be scaled up, and it messes up the layout of some of my submissions:

Thingfection - http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/47 2757 - When scaled up, part of the menu shows below the game area (hidden off-screen in normal mode).

Sonic in Abstracta - http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/46 2676 - When scaled up, text alignment on the tutorial screens is altered, slightly messing up the layout.

Abstracta - http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/43 6166 - Same as above.

Of course I can design around these issues in future productions, but in the meantime I would like to be able to just disallow full screen scaling for these submissions. Preferably as designer's option from the 'edit this submission' page.

Good work, I will probably link friends to flashes much more now that they are already there rather than having to press the play movie button. I know that sounds stupid but friends usually said 'What the hell is this??' when I linked them here.

I have only one suggestion/complaint, get rid of the autoplay. I love seeing this on any mature submissions and wouldn't mind seeing it on every submission. Besides this and a bit of design shabbiness that I can handle, I LOVE IT. The benefits outweigh the negatives guys.

While you guys are redesigning the flash submission pages I suggest you put the Pico scorecard back into Flash so we can hear the button sounds, I loved that shit.

I dunno...I'm not sure what to say. I kinda prefer the classic "compact" look, so you can look at everything ( comments, authors, etc) before the flash loads.
On to my next point: I hate how the flash just loads automatically. Sorry NG staff, but I just hate it. I'd rather read the comments and reviews first and see if the flash is even worth loading.

I'm aware that there are people who like the new "wide layout", so here's an idea: Why not put an option on people's accounts or the NG front page so you can actually choose which layout you want to use.
I dunno if that can be done, I've never designed a website before, but it seems worth implementing. That way people can just stick to their favourite layout and chill out ;)
Love ya ppl, Z-gen.

You're a fucking moron. THE ARTIST GETS A BIG CUT OF THE AD REVENUE FROM ANY PAGES THAT ARE RELATED TO THEIR CONTENT.

Seriously though, it's nice. The only problem I can see is that the voting panel is too far down, I wouldn't have noticed it if I weren't a portaler. I'd recommend moving it next to the flash, having it so far away means only people who know it's there and want XP will vote, It's better to have ALL viewers voting, isn't it?

I HATE THIS NEW LAYOUT.
The movies/games start loading even if I don't want to watch or play them.
This is terrible for me cause I only have 1GB of trafic to surf on the net, so if I already saw the movie and I only want to rate (when I love the movie/game I vote 5 for a month) or comment it will load again and in few days my net will totaly disapear.

So please come back with the old one.

OR
You could make all like the movies Under Judgment which I think they only load after we press play.

As much as I usually dislike change, I do think this could be good for the site. At the moment this is very new and obviously will need a few tweaks such as in the layout where things don't line up completely, but two features that this update will NEED to work for me is:

1. Option to disable resize when submitting content - obviously some flash doesn't look good when resized, and some just completely lags itself into oblivion. And resize isn't always necessary anyway.

2. Option to disable auto-play on user accounts - some people use newgrounds differently to others and so this auto-play feature wont be helpful for everyone. As said by others it can really lag and I really don't mind clicking play myself.

I find it must be so annoying whenever websites have an update after months of working on it and the users turn round and say NO TAKE IT BACK YOU HAVE WASTED YOUR TIME TRYING TO MAKE THINGS NICE FOR ME.

I think that this'll definitely appeal to new users, but... I dunno, it just doesn't fit or something. Maybe it's just cos I'm not used to it yet. But I do think that the voting panel needs to be repositioned to make it more visible, rather than having to scroll down.
Also does anyone else think that the wide layout bares are striking resemblance to the one on PhrozenFlame, or Flash, or whatever it's called?
