Please give the artists the option to restrict the zoomy thing and it'll be alright ;)

Flash only tracks object locations up to the 0.0th place. When you stretch Flash, this can cause problems with hit tests in games since it will round those values. I had my character sliding off edges and enemies killing themselves with an inappropriately sized screen.

There are also boxes obscuring parts of the menu, and it kind of sucks that you have to scroll so much to get to the voting/reviews.

Great job Tom! Its looks great and the original picture quality seems to still be intact. The only problem i've had so far is lag but, then again this is what a beta is for. Keep it up!

Nice system, love the new wide/face/etc. modes, but some of the parts really don't fit together too well, the voting bar looks tiny now, and the login panel at the top's ugly as sin alongside the smart steampunk-y boiler thing. Rather have the info and voting stuff where the related content box is too, seems a bit unfair to only give the artists a footnote.
Nitpicks aside, great job!

3) An idea, similar to userpages, maybe the author should be able to arrange the page, except for the flash's position? Seeing that the authors are lower on the page and almost cut off, it'd kinda cool if we could move things around.

Yeah, I like your idea.

Anyways... great update, Tom!

This is great. However, the layout is a little bit weird.

I think for pages that display like the Brackenwood page, the author comments should still go to the left of the movie, while the suggested viewing should still go below the fold. (See Illustration)

I agree with thethingy5 - I think this new layout has a lot of potential but needs some work. That zoom feature worries me as well; I've always liked how newgrounds didn't allow for this as some of my games experience graphical glitches when the size is altered.

I also really like the old Newgrounds view window, it was quite stylish - I find the game pages kind of lose a bit of class when the game is just up right away like that.

Yeah, I believe it's wrong as people are less likely to look at more stuff by the actual author. I also think people are now less likely to read the comments, so they may miss some important information

I like it., but it's missing the option to close the flash and make it stop playing. You have to either open it as a pop up and then close it again, or exit the whole page.

That illustration is great. I don't really like it at the moment, but those simple changes would make all the difference.

Some people and I prefer the old layout, and some are liking the new one, can't you just add a Option Button so it would be much fair, for those who like the old one and new? :)

I don't understand how anyone thinks this looks nice. It looks more like my browser decided to stop running some script, and therefore didn't load the page correctly. We could already view Flash submissions in the same window, and it looked much cleaner. I don't see much of a point in this.

You're a fucking moron. THE ARTIST GETS A BIG CUT OF THE AD REVENUE FROM ANY PAGES THAT ARE RELATED TO THEIR CONTENT.

wow a whole 2 cents a month, i'm missing out on that! i'd never have to work ever again!

For those of you who used the old setting
and could not see part of the game or movie at the bottom

use CTRL+ mouse scroll to change the wepage size
but only do it after you open the internet dont do it while
on the newgrounds website

you know, things that I thought would be fairly essential to the site, but will of course never be implemented since they don't put money in anyone's pockets.

Keep in mnd, Newgrounds is not some big site backed by venture capitol. We are all about branching features to the audio community, but with limited resources, most of our time is spent on maintainance and revenue generation with the long term goal of being able to do more in way of sponsorships, and bringing in new talent to the team that can help with features relating to multi-author audio (amongst other awesome ideas on the super long 'to-do' list we have).

Couple of more things now I've had a long think about it:

Authors in title bar would be awesome. The voting bar a bit higher (maybe above the author comments, though this'd look a bit higgeldy piggeldy.

etc.

still swell though. I'm definitely more for than I am against.

At 5/27/09 04:40 AM, Rucklo wrote: - A stop-button would be great. Simply because when a flash is done playing , some have music or whatever that keeps going.

This.

At 5/27/09 07:49 AM, Haggard wrote: It really isn't that good if a big flash (like the street fighter collab for example) that takes ages to load (hey, internet in Europe isn't that fast!). Sorry, call me retarded, but how is this any different to when it was in a pop-up? When it was in a pop-up you'd still have to wait just as long for it to load :S

I preferred the old one myself. I liked to read some reviews before I bother loading up a game or movie but the new layout does look good.
