EDIT: Listen up guys, I know this game can be a little hard, which is why I put hints on the bottom of the screen. If you're stuck, it's really important to follow these hints, as most of them will tell you what the ONLY way to beat a level is! Any reviews made by people that failed to read the instructions or hints will be flagged for removal.

EDIT 2: Alright, this is now even easier to help the newbies out there. The Barbie level remains quite difficult, but anybody remotely competent in platformers should fall asleep during the rest of it.

EDIT 3: If any of you need help on a particular level, you can see a speed run video here (PewDie, I know you're going to use this to cheat you little barrel):

EDIT 4: Scoreboard is FINALLY WORKING!! All you bros have at it and see who's the best!

This is a project I've been working on for a while as a tribute to the YouTube user PewDiePie. It's also the first time I've used my award-winning platform engine to make a real game.

This game is very short, and can be completed in under 5 minutes (my best score is 277) with a little luck, but it should still be worth playing. I do suggest checking out PewDiePie's channel prior to playing. though, otherwise the story will seem rather confusing.

The games I've made references to are listed below:
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Penumbra: Black Plague
Half-Life (Afraid of Monsters Mod)
Dead Space
Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi
The Calling
Barbie Adventure
Ao Oni
The House

I love this game, and Pewdiepie! Bro fist! Good Morning Gamer!

what is marzia vitae and i dont get it
also yeah too hard from hitboxes
and are you fucking serious doing it under 6 minutes? no possible error it must be a 0 death run
giving it 2 stars cause impossible to get that last medal

Kwing responds:

Kind of a lame reason to get 2 stars but whatever.

Vitae is a liquid from the Amnesia universe. Seeing it in-game implies that Marzia was tortured (ultimately false, since she was hiding in a suit of armor for the whole game.)

Under 6 minutes is definitely doable, provided you know what you're doing. My best time is actually under 5.

I can see some effort has been put into this, but that's basically the only nice thing I can say about it.

-Starts off with horrible audio, then instantly displays bad design graphically. Nothing fits together.
- Bad audio gets even worse in-game with the most obnoxiously annoying sound effects.
- Controls are clumsy, hit detection and collision is is wonky at best.
- The "humour" is cheap, unfunny and sometimes even offensive.

The only way any one would give this five stars is if they were blind, deaf and lost half of their other senses. You get half a star because you apparently spend some time making this.

Kwing responds:

Not really sure how to respond to this. This game is six years old at this point and as you point out is full of quirks. I didn't have great samples to work with when creating my effects, and composed the music myself on (really bad) software to prevent any issues with copyright infringement. The humor is niche and its references are extremely dated in 2018.

The only thing I'd disagree with you about is the hitboxes. I spent a decent amount of time ironing these out, and while they aren't always great, I feel as though the barrels are the only part I would really consider bad. For the most part I think it's pretty easy and intuitive to hit bad guys and dodge obstacles.

Might have played the game if it ever loads "bro"

Kwing responds:

The game still loads for me. Are you sure it's not a plugin issue since Flash is being phased out?

+ + Dynamic gameplay with multiple characters
+ Difficulty is good and the curve is balanced, providing a challenging but not frustrating experience
+ Soundtrack is adequate
+ Developer answers to (seemingly) every review, takes feedback from playes (This isn't as good as it sounds because most reviews are incredibly bogus. Seriously. There is a review that consists solely of "sup" and many others with simple/nonsensical phrases)

- - - It's not a tribute game, it's a game that uses image/jokes around PDPs channel and culture (and other games as well, as listed on description)
- - Clumsy controls and movement
- Clumsy collision detection and hitboxes
- Graphics are bad, game isn't really well finished graphically
- Jumpscares. (At least they weren't "screamers"). Using jumpscares in videogames is almost always a dumb move, especially when stuff "pop" on screen. It's just the cheapest/easiest way to terrify.
- No real replayability other than medal huntin'

Overall, a subpar game, which seems to be popular (atm, ~652k plays) just by using PDP's image/jokes. Good for wasting some time, but after medals are taken, to shelves it goes.

Kwing responds:

So just to explain some things - this game is OLD, and its view count blew up after PewDiePie played it (this was when he had ~100k subscribers.) I made this as a small project back when it was pretty par for the course for fans to make random shit to get featured on the channel and it was never meant to be a work of art. I've released far more complex and original material since this game came out, but of course being featured in a video has made this project disproportionately successful regardless of how its quality compares.

I do wish you'd expanded a little on what was wrong with the hitboxes and controls. A lot of my earlier games had issues with these but I always felt really solid about how this game played in particular, so it's weird to hear this coming from one review so many years after the game was released.
