Mad Karate Man

We at Ninja Kiwi are proud to present Mad Karate Man as it's sponsors. The developer, Joaquin Zamora Ubilla, would have like to submit this game himself under his own account but is unfortunately based in Chile and has had a pretty rough time over there, as such we're submitting for him.

Remember the bonus stage in Street Fighter 2 where you smash the crap out of a car? Mad Karate Man is kind of like that, except instead of the car imagine you're opening up a can on one of those lousy bankers :P.

The objective in Mad Karate Man is pretty straightforward. Get the highest score you can by smacking this guy, quite literally, off the face of the earth (Violence is actually pretty mild for all you mums and dads :)

In the beginning you won't be able to get much of a score and your first "final blow" will be pathetic. But horde up those mad points, get all those upgrades (there are HEAPS of upgrades) and soon you'll be able to make smoking craters with your fists!

*slogs though early game grind*: "Man, I'd rather smash my balls with a hammer..."
*maxes everything, perma juggles yuppie into outer Solar System*: I AM A KARATE GOD

It was fun coming back to this gem. I wish the creator had stuck around. Maybe flesh the concept up a bit. More upgrades, more enemies, like Burrito Bison. All in all, a fun toss-em-up, despite the steep difficulty curve. black/10 belts

This game is really addicting, and one thing I want to say is that the mechanics of a launch/toss game have never been so unique and complex, which is good! At the first it looks very hard and pure bs, but mastering it is so satisfying and really reward full.

The music is good... but forgettable, and thanks good its not annoying, is like the graphics, Karate Man and the Business Man are well animated, but the fact that the ninjas have no animation and thers no special backgroung, it feels odd, and most of the time you dont even see the cars blowing up, there isnt much going on expect for a guy flying (still pretty fun, enough to keep your eyes very busy).

Speaking of the ninjas, holly shit they are a pain in the ass, you have to click them to have a change to score high, they are worst than the cops of Burrito Bison Revenge.

Also, this game just took me some hours to complete 100%, its fine, this game has no story mode, and no need to, but replayability gets kinda lots because theres no other mode excetp for punching the 3 guys endlessly (and no medals), so it really makes the game shorter, which is also ok, but most launch games takes me one day of playing to finish the story mode, and even more time to get all upgrades (like Berserk Bal 2). I think this is fine considering that in most of this games your beginning stats are somewhat significant to get a good score, and a mire 0.01% upgrade has a bigger impact, not only visual but gameplay wise, here, its much more harder to get a good score at the start, and to see the upgrades to really make a difference.

But with all that considered, its still a really cool game, is not unfair or overly conplicated, is just challeging, in a good way! You have to punch that man really hard, avoid that briefcase (or even break it!), CLICK THOSE DAMN NINJAS, time everything right, know when to use those flying kick, and in a short time of playing, and mastering, only than, you may have a slight chance to feast upon the purest madness of Mad Karate Man.

It's a good game, but the scale is too rough to be a great game. At first you're doing nothing with your hits and you only get to upgrade something every 10-15 attempts, and then after a lot of grinding through those early stages you suddenly start going crazy. I literally had it happen where at a certain point I went from my high score being 80K straight to 5.8M

Again, I liked it. But it wasn't great.

Mad Karate Man is so Awesome,Fun,Addicting and
Epic.I love this game!!

Awesome ! The fighting system is just as elaborate as in some of the best JRPGs (Tales of, FFs), eventhough it is a tossing game. This stands among the best tossing games i've ever played. The half star that is missing is because the game has no end. Maybe the game could benefit a slight storymode, or at least different levels to blast that guy across before unlocking the infinite mode where you can submit your score (see Burrito Bison or Berserk Ball).

Anyway, thanks for making that game, it was a bliss playing it !
