Today’s tablet recipient is @BombHDs, who had been drawing with an iPad that has since died, leaving them with nothing to draw on!
Expect more art from BombHDs with this new tablet!
2023 Highlight - MaxJohnsonINK
I’m starting to think about people who made a big impact on NG this year while not getting much coverage in the previous posts this month. @MaxJohnsonINK was the first who came to mind!
Max makes all sorts of weird and creepy mixed-media movies that are always an audio-visual treat.
He kicked off 2023 with “LITTLE OSWALD”, a wretched pile of skin.
This was followed in March by “GAS PUMP-CHUMP”, a spooky tale of those TVs they put on gas pumps.
Next was “The BLAM-O! Brothers” in April, about a couple of idiots but also a thank you post for 1k NG fans!
In May we were introduced to a man in a box, in “there is nothing you can do.” We all want to be poked by a stick once in a while; for example clicking an emote response to this post is like poking me with a stick to let me know you’re there.
September treated us to “BEAUTIFUL DAY”, my personal favorite from this year. So much goes on in this video, across so many mediums! It’s really brilliant stuff.
For the Halloween Spooktacular Max made “Introducing Debbie Sparks”, a film that would have also been at home in the Live Action Jam, where Max served as a judge!
That brings us to “wreck”, recently on the front page. If you find these movies strangely relatable, you’re not alone!
Max also tested out the new Multi-Art feature by sharing some art from BEAUTIFUL DAY in the Art Portal.
He also made a blog post with some behind-the-scenes info and video.
