Floor 1 of the NG office is just about ready! Long-term we're planning to have people give talks (ie game dev and artist meetups), throw weekend game jams, animation festivals and first friday galleries. Maybe some game tournaments too, who knows. For now it's a casual meetup space. We picked up a bunch of IKEA furniture yesterday:

Note that the latter links were when it was a works in progress at the end of 2005.

VERY EXTREMLEY SUPERDUPER IMPORTANT:
don't forget to put stuff up on the walls to dampen and take away some of the reflections that usually bounce around in a large cement-type room like that!
some kind of drapery-thingy on the walls usually do the trick, along with a few thick rugs on the floor or something like that. of course IKEA furniture help alot, mainly because of the swedish wood sucking things up. ^_________^

Actually, it'd be pretty cool to have NG chat connect to the NG common area via webcam. That way you could join NG chat for events like that and nerds the world over can be a part of NG's nerdy meetup fun!
