After ten years in basements, bedrooms and living rooms, Newgrounds finally has an office where the gang can come and goof off together! Will it ultimately cause our demise? Probably... But I'm sick of basements!
The space is currently very empty as we are still getting set up. We're in the process of setting up work stations for Stamper, Mindchamber and Jeff Bandelin, so we can have a nice little art commune going on!
The picture above is my work space. To the left is my computer and to the right is my "test station" for console game development. BUSY BUSY!
In the middle of my desk space you can see I have a pile of padded envelopes - those are the monthly awards, waiting to be sent out! This expanded space makes it much easier to put together and pack up the awards. It's especially nice not to have cats walking all over everything!
Below is a picture of Josh's set-up. Josh is a programmer from the Behemoth team, solely focused on console game development. For those of you who haven't been paying attention, I'm one of the four founders of the Behemoth. We formed to make a console version of Alien Hominid! The NG office is basically a combined space for both NG and Behemoth projects, since I juggle both and the ultimate goal is for everything to converge and be awesome.
Here are some more pics of the office. The pic on the left is a close-up of my workspace. The pic on the right is the NG sys-admin Tim, working at his new widescreen monitor! Keep clicking those banner ads!
Alien Hominid won three awards at the 2005 Independent Games Festival, so we have them proudly on display in the office! We also have a nice toy collection!
Another showcase piece is our collection of every DVD put out by a Newgrounds contributor!
If you're an artist with a DVD, contact me so I can get it on these shelves! Here's some more shots of the toy collection:
That's all for now! Want to see more? Too bad! I'll be adding more office pics later, including floorplan and exterior shots. For now, have a look at the office video, that Stamper put together!
