Alright! I'm finally home so I can get to work on my part again! YAY!

As for the aura business, how about I put together a script to load the auras from the site?? It will reduce the size, and give me something to do while I'm bored.

I'm gonna do it anyways :P

Cya around!

I don't think the code is of any use since the FAQ page doesn't show gold auras. Dammit ):
Sounded like a good idea though.

All done! I just need to make an obvious script to make it easy to load.

What are your instance names of the transition_mc??

Can you send me the file so I can add the script and instances?

Thanks :D

So yeah. This is what I can do with my script.
http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/4208/665 17_AuraPicker.php

It would be in the script rather then just like that, but the images are being loaded from Newgrounds.com

I have a lot of spare time on my hands.

are you going to have it so the auras colours are RAND or are they pre determind before?

No no no, not rand. It will be decided before the transition goes. The only thing we may need to do, is have the transition waiting to make sure it loads the images before it launches, as you see there is a few second delay.

60 doesn't load since the link is different, I was too lazy to fix it, but I've got nothing better to do . . . So I'll fix it right now :P

I'm pumped for this surprise.

Y'hello lads,
I don't know about you all, but I could hardly find any time to get online.
Going from one party to another, celebrating everything with the family, ...
Y'know, It's a busy period :]

Happy 2009 btw, I'm surprised none of you mentioned it yet! ;]
All have a well year ;)

-----
That external loading-script looks very fine!
Like I said though, it should be among the last things to finish, but it's nice that you're already working on it! :]

You'll have to update me about it though, I don't know if it'll be that easy to implent into the collab's .fla file. I have my own ways of compiling it, so I just hope everything will work out.
Though I'm sure it will!

Right... Well, a new year.
The busy period has kind of passed, so I assume we can all get to work again.
I'll compile whatever I have so far and I'll PM a few lads to continue on working.

Keep it up,
remember to post previews now and then!
Thanks! ;]

Zero, it should not be too hard to add, it's a very basic script.

If there is any problem when you add it, I can always take a look :P

Thanks a lot for all that trouble!
I really appreciate you helping me out like that ;]
All of you, thanks!

Np, I like getting involved as much as I can with things! It gives me something to do in spare time. Sadly, I'm in for a heavy next semester, so I will probably be less active. But I will pop in as often as I can.

Happy new year all!

Matt, what you made is very neat. The only problem I see now is that the golden aura links may expire. I hope it's safe to say they won't? Now that I mention it.. The same may happen to the Newgrounds levels page if they go through a redesign in a couple of years.

The Gold aura would not expire, those are for Mods remember? Unless Tom wipes out all the mods, we're good for that.

I imagine that they will keep the level icons in the same url, they have a licon (level icon) part of the site, which would unlikely be changed.

Worst comes to worst, we just modify the domain URL.

It'll be fine :D

you know it seems like it would be a little too hard to make an entire collab about the level icons and not have at least SOME overlapping jokes.

What I mean with Golden auras going to expire is the links of the aura images; Since you're linking them from outside Newgrounds.

I'm not expecting the Newgrounds level system to change, but you may never know. I think there's a pretty big chance that it may happen someday in a few years. They changed the system back in 2007 so I'm not saying it won't ever happen.

We don't need to worry, that would be in a few years, it's what happens the day it is released and a while after that. If it were to expire or whatever, it would be an easy fix.

woooaahhh, inactivity...

Response to The Ng Level Collab 2009-01-02 21:01:30

Easy fix? I'm not sure of that. Are you sure we'll still have the .fla or links after 5+ years? :/
Honestly I think loading these things with codes has waaay too many downsides..

Yeah, matey, it's kind of sad.
Many people probably have their own family business, but the holidays are more or less over...
I'm expecting people to come back and stay a bit more active.

I have people though, for example Hiyoko, which are working on their part yet aren't posting here.
It's not a BIG deal, because what can we say after all?

We can't KEEP on posting previews after all...

But I'd like to finish this up faster,
so I'll definately go and be annoying if people don't show up soon :P

You might need to set a casual deadline. It will give everyone something to aim for. But quality doesn't come quick, how far (%) are we through now?

I hold onto every single file I have ever worked with, you never know!

We'll decide on this later :P

i am here reading all these posts...but i don't really have anything to do until everything is sorted and credits are to be finished.....

so don't go annoying me ;]

and i'm also "revising" for A-levels this month so i'll be slightly more inactive than usual

We have 7 parts open.
I have received 10 finished parts.
There are still 13 people working on their parts.

That's 50% done.

Of course, I'm glad the menu, preloader and part-splitters are done as well.
I wouldn't add them to the total percentage, but it's still good :]

Of course, note that those 13 people are mostly special cases.
Tman should be done in no-time, as well as NogginmenAnimations (Noggie). I don't worry about these two, because they can make their parts in the very last days of the collab, and still have a great part.

Also, part 29 is done by Hiyoko, and he's almost done as well.
Let's say... considering those facts, that about 13 are done, and 10 are working.

Makes it a good 77%.
So well... I agree though, those 10 people + 7 open ones are quite nasty.
I'm sure most of those 10 will finish their parts, but I'm afraid I'll have to throw out one or two inactive people.

At any rate, it's coming a long somewhat... :]
I think we should all think of a deadline, I was thinking we'd still have 1-2 full months work.
So finishing in start of March should be achievable.

Is that alright?
