Yeah, matey, it's kind of sad.
Many people probably have their own family business, but the holidays are more or less over...
I'm expecting people to come back and stay a bit more active.

I have people though, for example Hiyoko, which are working on their part yet aren't posting here.
It's not a BIG deal, because what can we say after all?

We can't KEEP on posting previews after all...

But I'd like to finish this up faster,
so I'll definately go and be annoying if people don't show up soon :P

You might need to set a casual deadline. It will give everyone something to aim for. But quality doesn't come quick, how far (%) are we through now?

Honestly I think loading these things with codes has waaay too many downsides..

I hold onto every single file I have ever worked with, you never know!

i am here reading all these posts...but i don't really have anything to do until everything is sorted and credits are to be finished.....

and i'm also "revising" for A-levels this month so i'll be slightly more inactive than usual

We have 7 parts open.
I have received 10 finished parts.
There are still 13 people working on their parts.

That's 50% done.

Of course, I'm glad the menu, preloader and part-splitters are done as well.
I wouldn't add them to the total percentage, but it's still good :]

Of course, note that those 13 people are mostly special cases.
Tman should be done in no-time, as well as NogginmenAnimations (Noggie). I don't worry about these two, because they can make their parts in the very last days of the collab, and still have a great part.

Also, part 29 is done by Hiyoko, and he's almost done as well.
Let's say... considering those facts, that about 13 are done, and 10 are working.

Makes it a good 77%.
So well... I agree though, those 10 people + 7 open ones are quite nasty.
I'm sure most of those 10 will finish their parts, but I'm afraid I'll have to throw out one or two inactive people.

At any rate, it's coming a long somewhat... :]
I think we should all think of a deadline, I was thinking we'd still have 1-2 full months work.
So finishing in start of March should be achievable.

Is that alright?

nice update there ZERO, its good to know where we all stand now and two months work is ample time i guess, its doesnt take long for the parts if you put your mind to it.

I probably won't be updating for a while. I have a crap load of work and we have Exams in about 2.5 weeks.

So I've gotta get working on that, so I won't have time to update.

like most other people it seems to be i have exams too, so it looks i wont be as active as i should be?! but i have finshed parts its just the menu profiles left for me to do.

Yeah, I could probably finish my piece up in a few hours, it's just that whenever I open Flash, I go to the point in the timeline I'm at and am like 'Urgh...' *animate an arm a little* Then turn it off -_-

Maybe a 'casual deadline' as someone mentioned would help.

Although there was already one wasn't there? In December or some shit?

Technically, there was one to test, around in December.
But it simply was impossible, even with boosting everyone's activity and moaning to everyone, hitting December or January would've still been impossible.

I'll make a large post about this in a minute, for now, let's stick with the deadline of February/May.

I'll discuss more points in the next post :]

There's not much we can do... The forums are flooded with new collabs so finding new members is quite hard these days.

All I can do is keep on stressing that we need to post updates.

I understand that the inactivity is my fault, yet, I have no idea how to fix it.
I don't want to keep on moaning to everyone to send parts... It's just not how a collab should be.
A collab should be made with people who enjoy animating and like to make a part... They should be motivated as well. I understand I should bring more motivation but sending PM's all the time, bitching about previews and posting the usual:
'Remember to post a preview now and then'

I guess I'm not all that of a great collab leader, but I'd rather be a sucky one, than one who constantly annoys his fellow members.

But in all honesty: this is YOUR collab.
Y'know, I'm not even going to post it.
There are people who deserve co-authoring much more than I do, and well... I haven't actually done anything. I don't think I'd deserve it, do it?
Not to sound negative, but I think a collab-leader as me is getting way too much credits like that.
All I did was post, PM and put the parts together... big deal. What matters is those people who were active all the time and motivated. Those who kept it up, even in tough times. And I'm not among them, despite that I'm the so-called 'collab leader'.

I want to finish this, and it WILL get finished.
Inactivity only stops those who aren't motivated themselves.
But I want to go for it and finish it all up.

We've gotten this far, so why stop here?
I have faith in all of you.

I personally find it better and less anoying when a collab leader is more strict. Not too strict of course, a collab leader should know what he is going to accept and what he is not going to accept. Give people advise on their animations, but don't be a bitch about it. Because honestly, don't you think some of the animations here are way too simple? Also look at what can be improved and give us updates with the progress. It keeps the thread bumped and the people who joined will be more motivated to notice the collab progressing. At the moment I feel like we're stuck in the mud... Btw, if someone gets annoyed by a reminder, then why the hell should you accept him into your collab? Set your boundaries man. That's all.

I'll animate once I feel like animating again. I'll still be around but this project's running slow so I'll take my time. kthxbi (:

thanks, and it was as well , not! lol my chance at being funny.

anyhow, just checking in and saw that there arent many free spots left on the list, but there are still free ones thats still a problem. over time we should be able to get enough people. a lot is already finished!

its basic(no BG, flat colours, simple shapes) and also its short and unorginal, if it gets neatened up a bit it could be ok, but i think i needs to be improved, you have the right idea tho'

and you can't have those levels against each other..it has to be parts like level 1 and level 2 or level 3 and level4 check back a few pages to see which parts are still available but you have to have levels that are "next to each other" so to speak...

and work harder on your animation that really was terrbile =D

dont say it is terrible and state the obvious, cos thats just harsh and offputting, you can see the effort in it, well after a day i think of animating, and obviously the guy got the wrong idea that you have to spend quite a few hours on an animation.
