idiot-buster, there's no real need to attempt to "revive" this thread... especially if what you're posting are little things that may not be of much / any interest to others.

Frankly, I'm surprised that this thread has as many pages as it does. When I first started it, I intended it to be used to archive more significant things that people would actually remember, such as site designs from special days like april fools, clock day, christmas, etc. I didn't really intend it to be used for posting every TINY piece of the website from years ago that you can simply find on the internet archive with a bit of searching around.

This being said, I'm not trying to discourage you from posting here... but please try to keep in mind what I've just said: if there's something significant worth remembering, then by all means post it... but don't just post every random thing you find, because it just seems a bit needless and spammy.

Yes indeed the for what the idea was i would have never gussed that this thread would reach over 50 pages. I see what you mean, most of the things iv'e posted in the past must fall under this catagory as well. alot of my posts do have interesting storys behind them, this may not be as interesting as some but i believe should be here non the less.

I suggest that if you are to share a picture you should also know the related story behind it. It feels slightly pointless having someone posting pictures they've fetched off archive.org and in the post just stating that it is indeed an old picture with something in it.
This also leads us to that we perhaps could avoid posting pictures which do not have any particularly interesting stories tied to them or are otherwise significant in some way.

So by story behind it do you mean like time period it was on the site and a bit of information about it? or do you mean something more then that? I think if you know thoes two thing about the screenshot and anything else about it then you are good to post it. If you just have it you could ask someone who whould know about it before posting. besides me i don't see too meny other people posting older screenshots. So i don't think we have to worry too much.

I mean that if you post a picture of ramagi reaching 20,000 b/p you should also know who ramagi is and be able to share that information.. Basically, you should be able to motivate the significance of the picture and its containments.

Hmm...I really wish the mod(s) who is/are deleting posts prior to the index posting would say something beforehand and/or tell me why posts are getting deleted, let alone reveal themselves. Now it's just a huge fucking mess, with indexes appearing more often on the bottom or the middle of the pages. Which is why I proposed a new thread a long while back to sort out this mess.

As for the obligatory picture, would screenshots of accounts prior to deletion count as legitimate screenshots from now on? I know there's been a screenshot of Bedn's account stats before, but I'm wondering if those are legitimate enough to be accounted for. Like Davidzx's account here.

Yes, that is a big problem. If your hear checking every couple of days or everyday if the activity warrants it. There you could just delete the usless posts and make sure that the update on the top of the page done by H-O-S is allways at the top of the page and telling the user to repost it :::if it's worthy of course:::

Yeah but that changes nothing if people who post here get their posts wiped by admins in future, as EJR did.

The best idea is just to lock the thread and call it a day. I don't think this place is even really useful for people anymore (if it ever was). It's just become a mess and a post count +1 haven, as we can see by your constant bragging about how many posts you have in this thread.

Oh, and please don't anybody remake this thread because I'll just delete it. It's pointless to persevere with it at this point.
