Okay, folks. Bad news:

Can't post pics from my old desktop computer to NG. My desktop's old Firefox version (version 1.something from 2004) will upload the pic, show the thumbnail, etc. etc.... but then if I try to post the post+pic, it says "Wait for the image to finish uploading before posting" or some bullshit like that.

I think it's a javascript issue between redesigned NG and the old Firefox. I don't want to upgrade Firefox because our old desktop might not be able to handle the newer versions of Firefox, and my gf likes to use that computer/Firefox when I'm hogging this laptop.

I tried IE, too, three times as well.... every time I went to NG, the page would start to load, I could see everything... and then before I could even type in my username and password, the entire computer would lock up. Win98 + old IE + redesigned NG = crash, apparently. I tried various pages, the main NG BBS, my profile, etc. Didn't matter where I tried to enter NG from to log in... crash.

Soooooooooo.... no luck. If I want to post any pics from that computer, I'll either need to gmail them to myself, upload them to my website via FTP, or put them on a USB harddrive we have for backup and transfer them to the laptop.

I can't burn a CD, because both the CD player and the CD recorder (had two drives) on my old PC are both non-functional.

BUT...

Good news:

I found a backup CD-R from 10/29/2004!

It has all my old screenshots from NG in 2003 and almost all of 2004!

No 2005-2006 screenies, including back when Pimp and HT were tied and lots of fun stuff like that, but I can always get the 2005-2006 stuff later from the desktop.

For now, we start... with the oldest of the old. The 03 and 04 stuff. From my backup CD. Here we go, folks.

I start you off with a screenshot of fixit's profile when he had just become the SECOND PERSON EVAR to hit EGSC back around October 1st, 2003.

Here's HT's profile when he was slipping out of the top 1000 b/p... and was stuck at 11.00 VP.

Oh, I meant to mention dates. That HT screenie was from 20040222 (YYYYMMDD will be my datestamps from now on for simplicity's... or rather, quickness of my typing's sake)

Here's ol' NemesisM66 when he hit 13.37 VP on 20040317!

Here's "level up!" (now known as LUL, of course) when it had 9999 replies, i.e. 10,000 total posts, on 20040301, just 2-3 days before I hit EGSC, incidentally.

And here it is just two minutes later, that same day... with 10,000 replies (10,001 posts, of course).

Here's a ton of rankbadges from my old sigpics.... same basic idea as my current sigpic, but from the days when I used to not be EGSC (gasp, I know).... features ranks 1 through 21 under the old system. Dated 20031010.

Even more familiar folks on the most recent deposits list, this time from 20030918, less than a month later. But the formatting on NG changed in the interim.

Note: this was also during the "PimpMaster_Dog" theme-following times.... all modeled after the great PimpMasterKDOG original, of course. G = me, J = Joe, K = the original, of course.

There was a really, really great thread on NG back in spring of 2003... yes, I know... that's hard to believe nowadays. It mostly featured hilarious MS Paint-drawn battles between Heretik (famed flash artist and longtime BBS poster at that time as well) and batard (I honestly don't remember him doing much except... that one thread #;-}>).... and I had to join in.

An amusing pic of me threatening some dude I don't even remember with bannination for a non-crime. I kinda remember this. I typed out a ban reason, of course I didn't actually ban him, but then I posted the screenshot and the guy was kinda worried after that. Hilarious. From 20040327.

Thanks to gfox for all the great screenshots he's posted on page 6! There's some real nice ones in there, so thanks for the effort to find them all, and trying to get the older ones from your other computer. <3

I got a few I like to share. First are the theoretical whistles by Poxpower.

To gfox, do you still have that .gif of that countdown from when the voting systems was realigning to fit 200 votes from 150 votes. I can't recall too much of the details but I recall it was an HUGE newgrounds involvement on everybody's part at the time, to mass vote on ALL the existing flash submissions to integrate the new voting count.

This is a p-bot parody (possibly the first) by Poxpower in 2003. This and the next image were created out of fun/spite. In a time when newly formed clubs were created, a few users got together; Hulk, aviewaskewed, Poxpower, Me, Star_Clever, etc...(many who became mods after the club's end) joined together and created the club-a-club-a-club as a bit of satire.
