I've got a better idea: War food

Cold, artificially produced MRE's with instant coffee.

The breakfast of champions.

In Canada, we have bags of steam. Well, thats what I call them. Its some chemical that heats up when water is added (makes lots of steam). you put the pouch under the tin of your food to heat the food up. Hurrah.

I hate IMP's....(Individual Meal Packets, the Canadian form of the Meal Ready to Eat/MRE)

And actually, most of the (randomly distributed) meals are pretty good. I've had them. Plus, when youre hungry as hell in the field, you'll eat just about anything.

Yeah, that's what many World War I soldiers did during the trench warfare.

There is also civilian food which is exceptable out on the field. My old instructor recomended bacon grill. Its tastes alright so there are alternatives.

Also, if one is in the field and not on combat operations, you can start a fire and actually heat up the food well. What some army chefs do (quite effectively) is take different parts of a whole bunch of meals and make something both tasty AND packed with calories (a necessity in the field).

Supplement the Army rations with survival bars (3000 calories per bar) any you're set for enduring hell.

oh ya, just to say this, those food packs that come in brown boxes (forget the name) are great! and since you guys are talking about that heating up food, those things heat up reeeeaaally fast. just put some water, the food, and stick under rock. good to go. and they taste great!

Hey MrDeadly, how's the Mafia treating you?

Yeah, in Canada, we also have "boxed" lunches, which have 2 sandwiches, a can of pop, a dessert, and condiments. I got an extra one on a bush weekend a few years ago, and brought it to school for lunch. That was the one day I had the "cool" lunch, instead of a "loser" lunch. Heh. It's amazing how packing lunch in a cardboard box with "Canadian Armed Forces --- Boxed Lunch" on the side makes you instantly cool.

Yeah, you can join. Currently, you are a recruit, but if you continue posting here, you will eventually attain rank (like my rank of Captain, and GeneralMBison's of Supreme Commander: War Crew)

You don't have to like war to be a member. I don't like war, but I see it as sometimes necessary. In the War Crew, we can talk about any human conflict ever to scar the earth, so feel free to start topics (but check thread history to see if it's been done already).

Lucky you, well here in Britain it all varies on what sort of thing you are doing, if you are on just a normal camp then you get that sort of stuff. Though sometimes we have to go on basic food to train incase we find that we are running low on supplies.
