Hi, I'm Haggard. I signed up in 2001 when I was 19 years old.

You probably won't know me, even though this account already reached legal drinking age in many countries. The reason for that may be that I didn't really post that much in the beginning (just look at the post count, I only reached 10k just recently) I only voted on flashes to get XP (you young folks don't even remember we had to click an extra link to deposit or XP, right?), then stopped visiting the site until I felt the sudden need to deposit again.

I think I started using the forums more in 2003, but I won't go back in my posting history because of all the cringe I might find.

I mainly kept to the "Where Is/How to?" part of the forum because the General forum was even more of a shitfest than it is today. I found a few cool people there (most of them are pretty much inactive nowadays) and used to post regularly in the Level Up! Lounge. THE place to be if you want to celebrate any milestone your account reached.

Other than that, there's not much to say other than "I am old, please help me with crossing the road!"

I signed up in 2004. It was a pain in the ass to get on the internet back then because my father only let me on super late at night when nobody was going to call and it took 30 minutes for each flash submission to load.

I think it ended up being too much work and I ended up coming back my freshman year of college where I was a complete ass hat. Most people hated me and I was made fun of non stop. (Hmm, I guess some things never change...) I would spam the portal, do a lot of low effort posting in the forums, but wrote a bunch of super long and detailed reviews and ended up making a lot of internet friends at the time. At one point kidray76 permabanned me from reviewing for linking to a shock porn site. I somehow talked my way out of it like a year later.

Life happened, I stopped using the website again.

Fast forward, I got a desk job with a lot of downtime a few years back and started coming back to the site regularly. I became a forum and a review mod shortly after and here I am today.

I'm a father, a coach, and currently a home schooling master who also works full time and goes to the gym frequently. I do a podcast on the side whenever I have time.

I still do sometimes.

I think my first exposure to this site was in 2003. My brother showed me the Harry Potter/DBZ cartoons. I remember some other DBZ parodies and stuff from back before I made an account like Goku VS Unicron, Is That OK? and some thing where Vegeta can't use the bathroom and blows up the world. I remember Salad Fingers and Neurotically Yours (which I hated the latter and thought it was stupid) and later the Awesome series cartoons. I don't remember a ton else other than parodies.

I think I made an account as soon as I figured out you could post music on here that would still be legally yours (I remember reading the rules and stuff). In 2010 is when I made my first posts to the BBS if I remember right.

I used to be a satanist, but in 2013 a lot of things happened in my life and I was forced to be sober due to circumstance and well, more things than I can write here right now happened but basically I realized that I am just human trash. Well after that I read the Gospel of Luke in the Bible and believed that Jesus Christ really did die on the cross and rise from the dead so sinners like me can be saved and go to Heaven. My whole world was turned upside down and I became a born again believer in Jesus Christ. I've been making Christian music since 2014 and I still post it here.

I originally came to NG because it was the literal center of the internet universe. Dial up was not fast enough to support video streaming, so the main way to watch things on the internet was the very efficient format of flash cartoons and games.

I got involved in the forums in the early 2ks after I had built a small live home studio where I primarily recorded my own drumming with guitars. I notably supplied a track to @afroninja 's Territory War.

I play drums, accordion, and mandolin, and have played hundreds of live shows. The fact that I also set a fellow mod named Maus on fire who happened to be a tiny lesbian using absinthe given to me by @Luis probably played some small role in this as well.

In my defense, she gave consent on video that luis might be able to find. It used to be on youtube.

I was once attacked by a crazy dude who set himself on fire, I've been shot at and had to tourniquet a friend's gunshot wounds. I've been stomped by a mob on multiple occasions, and have several prominent scars on my head as well as a permanent skull deformity from blunt impact.

I have been involved in enough fucked up shit that I am now considered clinically insane with an extreme form of PTSD.

I still work and live independently without medication, though. I've been trying to get (ineffective) therapy for the past two years, but my therapist apparently thinks I'm hopelessly insane and keeps trying to dump me for being too crazy.

I think it's important here to note I have a clean criminal record (expunged).

I was a browser several years ago when I was learning animation for the nth time. I am not a professional animator, just do it for fun. I keep forgeting the software when I dont use it for a while and then have to relearn. I remember creating a tank cartoon that demolished a wall. I was very proud of it and I think I posted it here or some other animation forum that was alive at that time.

I've really been enjoying this thread! It's fun to read all the stories of what people have been up to over the years.

Oh forgot to mention. Since my last visits, I moved to a different country, got married and am a father to a wonderful 3.5 year old daughter :-)

I'm TrashLock and I've been a member on this site since 2001. Kind of forgot about it for a while but it's nice to see Covid bringing people together in a way!

I submitted a game for Lock Day, called Flash Fondler, which you should definitely check out. It's a 2000's-era NG Portal simulator. Basically NG/LL themed cookie clicker. It kind of passed under the radar but all my buddies tell me it's a good game. It even works on mobile!

Been here since 2008 and a little before that probably well before I should have been on this website. I spent most of my time cruising the 'group' threads from the old days like the NGPD and EGB with occasional posts in politics. Eventually got selected as an icon mod and then bumped up to a portal mod when their privileges were reworked.

now I just spend most of my time cleaning shit out of the portal and occasionally dropping in to see how the BBS is doing

Hey! Never left the site since signing up back in 2004 but not as active as I once was. Was better known as Bahamut back in the day but it's not a username I've gone by online in many years now.

Used to be a mod around here but as IRL got busier and busier I decided to step down in the end. At one point I won User of the Year from the tank awards for all the helping out I was handing to the site for the 2012 redesign.

These days I don't post a whole lot but 9 times out of 10 I'll be posting in the Level Up Lounge from the Where is/How to? forum which was like my e-home back in the day and still catch the odd face popping up every now and then. Otherwise, the odd post comes up here, C&C or VG forums.

So what do I exactly do that I'm still around for all this time? Admittedly the EXP system drew me in and after many years it became a habit to keep going and climb up the ranks as much as possible (currently in the top 40) and to catch a few content while I pop in.

Hey I'm Dave! I think I first came to Newgrounds at a summer camp when I was 9 when someone was showing me Potter Puppet Pals. I was drawn back in again later from Eddsworld. I was surprised how much a single person was capable of making, so that got me inspired enough to obtain a copy of Flash and try my own hand at it. I also followed some AS2 platformer tutorials on here, which is what got me started with programming too.

After enough years of being too scared to post anything, I started posting my very amateur animations, and was surprised again at the legitimate feedback people gave. When people don't like something, they give actual tangible reasons! Crazy! NATA was also really good at that, as well as fostering a real sense of community.

I've been gone for a bit because it turns out university and work takes up a lot of time. I'm back again because I finished a video finally but I think I'll be staying because I also poked around looking at the other new videos and remembered how fun that is. Even off of the front page, there's so much effort and care put into every submission, and I feel like that's pretty unique in the modern internet full of fast-pased, low effort memes. Nothing wrong with that too, but a break from it is refreshing. It also feels cozy enough that reviews/posts don't get lost in a deluge of comments. These are all things I already knew but forgot about for a bit until now.

I used to be a wannabe animator here on Newgrounds a long time ago (please don't watch my submissions) however those days are long gone, and I now create games here on the site because I'm considerably better at it.

I made a game for the HaxeFlixel jam while I was trying to find a job as a web developer, then realised I actually really like making games, so that's what I'm doing now.

Except in Unity. Because it's flexible and uses a more common language.
