I would like to join.
1. I have a Gibson SG Special, a cheap electric, and a cheap acoustic
2. My favorite bands as of now would probably be Mastodon, The Prize Fighter Inferno, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
3. I have been playing about 4 years and honestly am not as good as I'd like to be for playing for that long :(
I just tuned my friend's bass the other day by ear though, which made me happy, and I've been thinking of trying to learn Hangar 18 by Megadeth again (I gave up months ago, maybe even a year, so I'm gonna go back and see if I've improved enough to keep up now)

There's a Bass Guitarists club for your kind.

That thing kinda sounds like shit
There's only one bassist I respect (Aside from Jeff Martin from Racer X) and that's Tom Jenkinson (AKA Squarepusher). The guy's completely insane on bass and his music is an orgasm to listen to. Check out this little bass solo he pulls off in this interview (4:44). Bass is crazy hard to master if you go all the way to the peak of techniques - respect to anyone who actually pulls it off.

I was unaware Squarepusher played the bass.
Also what about Victor Wooten.
Others I would list would also be James Leach, Alex Webster, and the dude from Obscura (I don't know his name).

I think Les Claypool would be worth mentioning, even if his vocals are awful.

I lol'ed.
Stuart Hamm is pretty cool. But you can't go wrong with Squarepusher. Love his music.

Really? I guess that's understandable... unless you have ever seen a single video of him, been to his concerts or given a single thought as to why the bass riffs in all his songs are top notch. He really is a god.
He's my #2 most listened to artist, according to last.fm. An astonishing 6,212 plays but considering how much I play his material on my PS3 and all the times last.fm's scorbbler wasn't working, I would say it's closer to 8,000. His last album Just a Souvenir (2008) was ok... it wasn't as good as Ultravisitor or Feed me Weird Things.

Steffen Kummerer? That's what Wikipedia said at least.

No no and no, so yes it is understandable.

Yeah he has been going pretty loopy lately. His Solo Electric Bass album was cool, but Shobaleader One is just strange.
Big Loada is still by far my favorite.

ALL HIS ALBUMS are weird. Certain songs on Ultravisitor are just a complete mind-fuck (50 Cycles? Oh Jesus! It gives one hell of a trip when under the influence of Marijuana) and leads to think that Tom had tried LSD one point or another and if I were to ball park the album, it would be either during Ultravisitor or Big Loada. I will definitely mourn the day when he dies because it will mean that only Richard D James will be left or none of them to make matters worse.
Changed strings on my classical again, went MUCH smoother this time.

Also learning this for the lulz.
Word, what other songs you have in your classical repertoire? I'm learning Las Abejas by Barrios, it's a very fun piece.

It's big.
Heeelllooooo everyone. I've been getting into my guitar more lately and I figured it would be fun to start posting here.
I've only been playing for a little over a year. Right now I use some random Ibanez electric guitar but by the end of this year I'll have an American Standard Telecaster, so there's that to look forward to. I can't wait for that twang.
Even though seeing Paul Gilbert get murdered is the last thing anyone wants....

I've got a Kamoa Concert Mahogany Low-G :)
I have some random made in China special, but it's awesome for the fact it has a pickup in it, so I can goes electric on that bitch.
Anybody listen to Scale the Summit? I really love their riffs and the feeling that all of their songs capture. Link for anyone interested.

Not to make a pissing contest out of this but here's a piece I made nearly four years ago. 1:1 scale vector of an Jackson SL1, my ultimate dream guitar. The mesh work out of the guitar and a ESP KH2 are available for viewing on my profile there as well.

In terms of solo pieces, Asturias, Usher's waltz ( still working on it ), a few giuliani studies, and mazurka by villa lobos.
And I've performed various ensemble pieces like chasing dragons, nachtmusic, The cricket song and Concerto de los angeles with william kanengiser.
I need an electric guitar with a wider than average neck.
RECOMMEND PLEASE

You have to be waaaaaaaaaay more specific.

Really? I literally want any electric guitar with a neck which is wider than the average width. There isn't too much to specify.
