Greetings!

Synopsis: the final product of the collab will be a single flash movie made up of several comedic 40k shorts.

PHASE 1-----The Audition Period

Audition: to participate, please make a 40k character model and post an image of it on this thread. Please do not post other than to audition, or ask questions (This will make it easier to select participants.)

PHASE 2-----After the audition period:

General:
15-20 shorts (may change)
Myself and forbidmetal will handle the menu, credits, and our own parts.

Specs:
-white background (flash default)
- 550x300 stage (NOT flash default)
-24 frames per second
-20-30 second long parts

Symbols:
-keep all of your library items in a folder labeled by your NG name
-name all of your symbols in this format: 'NGname_symbolname'
(For example, 'flashbound18_Spacemarine') this reduces copy problems.

Disallowed content:
-porn, extreme nudity
-sprites (at least 80% of your flash must be drawn, if you have a screen displaying a Mario game, that's fine)
-stick figures

40k is a tabletop game, where players build and paint entire armies of miniatures than wage war on their friends. The game is played on table surfaces fashioned to look like battle fields. The game is played strategy and luck of the dice

could you color it, and make a walk cycle with him? you didn't make a symbol based character, so I need to Know you can do FBF

just to clarify, when I say character model, Im talking about the literal arrangement of symbols, or a drawing of the character you would use in fbf, completed. please post completed models.

yea ill get crackin on that i should have it done by the end of today cause i got a lot of missed school work cause i jus got expelled. Does this collab have to be a comedy or could u possibly change it to be serouis?

well.. I haven't talked to forbid yet, and I must go, but the plan prior to posting this thread was to finish this collab as comedy, than make another that's serious. If you want to make some intense battle, just make it funny at the end somehow.

you know; its really serious and violent, and than bam... (gag here)

I've poster 2 pictures, one showing the space marine aiming his boltgun and another with his boltgun lowered as to show the skull iconography on his chest...the lollypop's there to make the image look more interesting :P

One question, being that 40k's got a lot of races and so on, can we - rather than making one animation - make a couple of short ones? something like very simple jokes? :P

yes.. each author probably will end up making 2 or 3 parts, but I don't want spacemarines standing around exchanging knock knock jokes... the comedy should be situational. something funny happens, or someone acts funny... see?

don't begin your animations until the audition process is over. that model is awesome, and I can almost assure you that you will get in... but to be fair, wait.

Yes i understand the commedy you'd want and it's what i was thinking about, brief battles or serious dialogues with a twist ;p Thanks for the comment once again :P

looks like the clip is backwards... I didn't catch that when I first looked. it could be used for humor, certainly!

Yes i took some 'artistic licence' for the pic...i didnt include the jetpack or whatever it's called (i'm more into Warhammer Fantasy rather than 40k :P) If i'll be chosen i might tweak a few bits according to the animation if thats ok...

now we need vintage and Munz models... along with more join'ees. the audition period will have been for nothing if we barely get enough participants to get by as it is! spread the word!

well, don't get me wrong. It still looks great; I was really excited to see it yesterday, because I'm still waiting on the character models of some certain other slackers

Are there any races you'd specifically want? Or maybe jokes you've got in mind for us animators to make?

See... thats what I don't see working with this. Theres very little you can do comedically in 40k without the following:
- Violating the setting's core focus and important features, reducing the entire collaberation to torturously laboured in jokes or general jokes that would work for every other generic collaberation
