Reviews for "Police Cops"

The cross between 2d and 3d is a nice touch. You can tell which is which if you pay enough attention to it. I hope people ship Numb/Nuts xD cause they will be a fun group to have around. After getting my new computer I am glad I can finally play videos like these with no problem and enjoy them to the fullest. I know how hard animation can be but if you keep at it you will Amazing world of gumball tier. Which is really saying something :D

I really like this - I've added this to my favorites and watched it several times. I'm currently working on a project that I want to have a over-the-top,"campy cop" feel to it - similar to this.

Do you have any recommendations for anime or manga to check out that you've been inspired by?

Kel-chan responds:

this was inspired by Lupin III and panty and stock w/ garterbelt and also Cutie Honey. Those animes are pretty over the top and I liked the style from cutie honey- the 2004 remake.

But pretty much most animes by Gainax are this style of over the top silly stuff

wasnt funny (with the lone exception of literally one joke which i thought was halarious), animation was mostly good but was fucking herendious at times due to one or two really bizare styalistic (i think they are, not tottally sure) choices (see 3:56 for perfect example) but thats more of me not liking the style then anything, there are also some minor consistancies that tick me off but maybe thats also styalistic and i just dont get it or there going for tom and jerry violence type thing. what i can say is that i didnt laugh once and none of the jokes where clever or funny at all. all the charecters are kinda drawn akwardly and the eyes arnt always in the same place as the last shot and i HIGHLY dought that ones styalistic so yeah. also i find the fact that shes blond, everyone speaks english, and everyone but the blond woman is japanese seem to make figuring out where this takes place rather hard. so yeah unless the amazing tale of lazy eyed cops from tokyo/america/the german alps is a fuckin smash hit next time i probably wont watch it and i probably wont watch it even if it is. its been done to death and is aimed at the lowest common denominator, not that ive ever met anyone who even liked these type of films and honestly im not sure they even exist. Ussually anime even though i dont really like it i have to admit has fairly unique and very creative charecter desighns and honestly thats something that i feel was probably a big part of the peal in the first place thats really just lacking in this series, like a grindhouse film without the camp value or a speghetti western without the pacing its almost as if the soul of a work like this has been removed by making it into a generic and uninspired buddy cop comedy. not to say that you couldent have a unique and creative one with intresting cherecter desighn, but this is basicly just every buddy cop cliche ever. maybe if this was my thing i would have thought it was better but i have the sinking fealing i still would have found it to be bellow par. the generally generic buddy cop comedy however, is really what fucked it all up for me.p.s., what i presume to be a japanese accent at 2:57-3:04 sounds either irish or russian.

Kel-chan responds:

it was supposed to be a campy buddy cop comedy- hence police cops. I thought that was kind of self evident from the title and the picture

How.......
HOW COULD I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING?
THIS WAS SO FUNNY

Wow, a bit of Hunter and a bit of Postal... though I'm not an anime fan, nice work!
