Reviews for "Outpost:Haven"

Its good

It's a great game. It's keeps the drama up but... the lag bro. It freezes a lot. maybe a quality button and if there is one it badly placed cuz i havent found it. over all great game

Scared me that there was no mention of...

Save options.

only when I accidentally opened a 2nd window of this game did I learn you can continue from the beginning of each 'chapter'

the story was just like any other 'alien infested space location'
bits and pieces, only what you can imagine, surmise from the fragments of conversations past. it's ok to some extent, but it's always nice to have some more detail (background story, info of some sorts etc)

Still a bit confused on the use of EXP system in the game.
The 'Author's Comments'
says you can increase the EXP to unlock rank and weapons....
oh nevermind, I was thinking the USE of EXP as a form of currency.
(such as perks, leveling up type benefits, oh you're now a Staff Sergeant !

but like some 'stand off' type games, the more you kill eventually you get to use bigger better guns. which is good IMO.

Like below has mentioned.
Quality Control, if this is apparently Low quality I'd love to see what Medium and High \ Extreme \ Ultra \ whatever the heck a 'High Quality' is deemed nowadays.
I enjoyed your response to said below person's quality control.
that you working on this game on a 'already not so great' MAC seemed as a good enough standard to use for other computers. (but hey there's always someone worse off!)

Found some bugs yes! (shot them all so far)
But actual in game bug problems glitches etc. none so far on my windows 7 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 - 2600 CPU @3.40 GHz 8.00GB RAM , 64bit operating system.

perhaps you need some type of information gathering for quality control on the next game around?
exa. 'hey y'all, ********* here, new upcoming game called ***** needs your help! just fill out this information form of your operating systems and this will greatly help the quality control features of this next game for all to enjoy!'

that's all I have to say about that.
9 out of 10 stars, there's always more positive (hopefully) advances to be made in any persons endeavors.

Squize responds:

Don't we mention it autosaves during one of the loading screens ? I'll have to double check. We did plan an autosave symbol / animation, but just ran out of time.

As for beta testing, I think around 15 people gave it a really good bash for months, but it seems the real way to test it is let 32,000+ people play it :)
( A game of this scope there are always going to be issues, hopefully we can get on top of them all and improve the game for everyone ).

Epic review, thanks man.

Well polished game, but

This game is well polished, and has a good professional design, but here are the problems:

1. Everything is SLOW. Your character is very slow, and everything interface-related is slow. It takes forever to change your weapon (as opposed to pressing 1-5 or Q/E), opening your handheld takes forever with its loading screen (come on, even smartphones in modern-day technology is faster), and the supply terminal interface has this really annoying start-up time (which seems pretty pointless to me). The slowness of the interface is a bad sacrifice of gameplay for just the sake of style.

2. Given the amount of art in the game, there should be better monsters. The monsters are very one-dimensional, and behave unrealistically. For example, the big monster just fire straight ahead without even bothering to aim.

3. A lot of the weapons are pointless. For example, the vulcan is pretty much useless, I think.

4. After you die, you respawn at some random place which is very confusing.

I love this game, with the storyline and all. Yes, my comment on Outpost:Swarm may contradict this, but I have come to love this game just as much. Wonderful story you have here...
Also in the next patch for this, change the weapon switching to the one you have in Outpost:Swarm if possible. If not, good luck on Outpost 2!!

Squize responds:

A little late, but thanks, and yes we're going to be lifting the weapon select system from Swarm.
Swarm as a nice way for us to iron out a lot of kinks in O:H thanks to all the feedback we got.
Cheers.

this game is not bad.because it have exp and i like about that.
